@Bryzz Lull have you watched the series it's literally based on true facts and the boys have been exonerated so therefore the whole way the prosecution of these boys played out had racist undertones or was broken or they just didn't care about the victim they just wanted to not rile up the Press and not have the Press keep asking "who did it, who did it?" and just get it done with, so they picked up any (black) boy and in the show they put an emphasis on the black male, so.....

@Sizzle Wrap You don't know how the world would have developed without the evil of imperialism and colonialism. Native peoples all around the world may have stayed innocent of bullshit religion and self-hatred. Even native Europeans may have evolved differently without the original sin of evil slavery in their past. But we'll never know now, will we? We may have evolved to live on the moon if things had played out differently. All the time and energy spent robbing, stealing, pillaging and keeping your foot on the neck of others could have been put to better use. But you keep believing your way is the only way.

Because right now I've noticed where more blacks is, the majority of the cops is white, and where the majority of whites is there are bigger numbers of black cops. I truly believe that they intentionally put black cops in white neighborhoods and communities just so black cops don't get in the way of white cop's unlawful deeds in blacks neighborhoods and communities. Also, the few black cops they do allow to work in black neighborhoods and communities, the majority of them be older black male cops and with the majority of them being younger black female cops; and they more than often never pair either of them together, they're mostly always paired with white cops. It's almost a right of passage as a Black Male in America. I had a saying since I was 11, "My skin is my sin." When I 9 years old I told my mother and a good friend of mine that I will never see the age of 21, it's because of things like this. The cops would always assume I as a white girl in the hood was buying drugs. You’d think I’d get more shit for that. But no. My barback got harassed and treated like shit. So, when you are pledging to the American flag and you say "and justice for all" he is kneeling because there isn't justice for all. You would think after watching this interview you could comprehend that. Also, in case you haven't noticed black people have always cared about those deaths...from the "stop don't shoot signs" posted in many windows to trying to get kids into extra curricular activities and keeping them in school...so how dare you insinuate we don't?

The story is fake. These kids ran roughshod through the park beating people up. They beat the jogger too. Quality police work brought these miscreants to justice to serve the time they richly deserved. I’m just glad I left NYC so my tax dollars didn’t have to pay for their reward for being such thugs that night. They all acted in concert with Reyes. He did not act alone.

YES!!! That was one thing that really pissed me off while I was watching, every time a reporter or camera popped up and started attacking the boys and their families, they NEVER used *"alleged"* or *"allegedly."* All the news, never giving them a chance. They were guilty and never considered to be otherwise. I was furious when one of the moms was in the phone booth and the reporters came charging in, bombarding her with horrendous remarks and questions about her son when she hadn't even seen him or knew where he was. Just terrible. Also when one reporter brought up the death penalty to another mom. Makes my blood boil that people don't and won't see people as just that: *people* . So evil. Thank you Ms. Ava for telling the story how it really happened.

I question whether this can be fixed or mended when we have the policing institutions holding one line and a good deal of society is pushing along another simultaneously. It see more and more evidence that there is a growing tendency in the public at large to be vocal and confrontational, enabled some by our current U.S. President who has shown his disdain for laws that pertain to his style of living. America is showing more and more anger that is not well directed and can spill into disruptions that twist reality into a mob rule scenario.

No country has an infallible governing system. Freedom of speech is one of our most important assets. It allows us to share ideas, speak against injustice, and hold others accountable. We have a frustrating road ahead, but there is light. Can you imagine how much worse it would be if we couldn't speak out against our corrupt leaders and support those that support us? stephen karmichael In many ways, you’re right. But in this context, I disagree. I think we are just grasping for air in the form of one person who’s doing a lot to make people see us as human. I get it, I’m Black and I admit that in general Black people dress up dysfunction and call it culture. I’m completely against that! But I’m also acutely aware that where the justice system is concerned I’ll always have to be careful. I’m not trying to fight here, I just wish you could experience life with chocolate skin on. I’m not saying every single day is horrible. It’s just that when we enter certain spaces we have to exercise extreme caution because there are people who simple cannot look at us and believe that we’re really human. For example: As a black female I know that if I go get pregnant and drop out of high school without getting a diploma; I’m doomed to a life of poverty and cannot seriously blame white people for my stupidity. (Tons of Black people do that) If I get educated and present myself as a decent citizen then I’ll get a good job and live a decent life. BUT... if the black high school drop-out and the college graduate both get pulled over one night, if either of them even move their hands off the steering wheel, a cop who’s scared of ALL BLACK PEOPLE (even the decent, college educated ones who don’t look/dress like thugs) will panic and shoot. This poor officer may be white, grew up with limited interaction with Black folk and has heard his entire life that we’re ALL dangerous. So now he’s sent out to police these same folk he’s scared of; accidentally shoots one and now the entire world sees him as racist. This long epistle is just an attempt to explain why some Black people will click the like button on anything involving someone like Ava DuVernay. Have a great day now.

Reparations are long overdue and it's not a money issue. It's about justice & sending a message. From La Amistad to the death of Eric Garner the establishment has never taken the boot from their necks. (In education, health, housing, selective justice & job opportunities)

Reluctant_Fundamentalist As I understand it, Trevor identifies as biracial and has a book out in which he writes about his experiences growing up biracial in South Africa.

So true. I remembered Oprah giving the Central Park victim a voice on show many years ago although she said she could not remember nothing about her attack. I then waited patiently for Oprah to give them the opportunity to tell their story when they were vindicated but I can't recall her doing so. Much love and admiration for Ava. This terrible stain on the NY criminal system needed to be exposed for what they did to those children spearheaded by Fairstein and her criminal gang.

MS. AVA DuVERNAY. IF YOU SEE THESE WORDS PLEASE KNOW I SEND YOU THE HIGHEST OF RESPECT QUEEN. YOU ARE NOT ONLY A MASTER AT YOUR CRAFT, BUT YOU DO DIVE INTO THE DEPTHS OF THE PAINFUL REFLECTIONS OF OUR COLLECTIVE AFRICAN AMERICAN/AMERICAN HISTORY WITH BOTH A RAW REALNESS AS WELL AS WITH HUMANITY AND TENDERNESS. HUMANIZING OURSELVES IS THE SUBTLE NEXT LEVEL WORK THAT WE **ALL** MUST MAKE AND TAKE THE TIME TO DO. I WATCHED '13TH', 'A WRINKLE IN TIME', 'SELMA', AND NOW THE FIRST PART OF YOUR SERIES, 'WHEN THEY SEE US'... YOU DEAR ARE SO HUMBLE TO BE SO WILDLY TALENTED. FROM THE LIGHTING CHOICES, THE CAMERA TECHNIQUES, TO THE MUSIC, AND FASHION SELECTIONS... I TIP MY HAT AND HOPE TO ONE DAY SHAKE YOUR HAND. YOU ARE A TRUE INSPIRATION. THANK YOU TREVOR NOAH FOR FEATURING THIS GODDESS ON EARTH! RESPECT.
