This oldest hilt was still around in Disney in 2007 FYI. I went when I was eight and still have the hilt, but I lost or broke the other parts fighting with the saber and not holding back over many years. This video brings back many good memories, so thanks.

it WOULD be a lot nicer for hasbro to make the ULTIMATE ULTIMATE lightsaber kit, heres how: make a lightsaber build your own kit, but the lightsaber has in addition: cracked crystals (blue, red and green), and ''doors'' in the sides for the lights of the kylo ren addition to be added. Theres that is a clear kylo ren crossguards that you can put, the blades in the sides are clear and with a cracked appearence, so you can make custom kylo ren sabers.

Very informative! I found your channel doing lightsaber searches. I started collecting rgb lightsabers and toys found at thriftshops. Many are TCL cleaned up and working. Recently found some new ones and doing online searches, I found these were from Disney Build your Own stations. At first I didn't really like the plastic "toy" extending blades but there are fun for knock about and display props. I'm impressed that the newer ones have smooth motion sound and flash on clash features. The most recent found were the Kylo Ren and and a Luke -ish style. The end cap for the Kylo Ren is black but not the accurate style so maybe I'll get lucky and find one on EBAY or thrift shopping. I'm glad you explained the old single bulb flashlight type core and the current ones with many LED ( qui gonn hilt) . I have both styles and now I can do more customizing . Thank you!

Ok, Dan-o, I have something for you to consider. According to old canon, Jedi Master Yoda was often extremely cryptic, (from a certain point of view.) He changed the wording of the old Jedi code to it's current version. The old code, the Jedaii code was espousing a more moderate view to bring a balance to the force. This is the Jedaii code. " There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no fear, there is power. I am the heart of the Force. I am the revealing power of light. I am the mystery of darkness. In balance with chaos, and harmony. Immortal in the Force. The Gray Jedi Oath. Shows a balance in the Force combining both the Jedi Code and the Sith Code, both of which are extreme views and diametrically opposed to each other. This is their code. The Grey Jedi Code. Balance in the Force. Flowing through all there is balance. There is no peace without the passion to create. There is no passion without peace to guide. There is actually a type of jedi in Star Wars, called a Grey Jedi, and basically they don't believe in fighting for peace or power, they just care about the balance of the Force, and will do anything good or bad to keep it.

There's a seller on ebay whos selling a bunch of these! I was able to grab replacements parts and new hilts without the hassle of driving to Disney or calling them. A bit pricey but better than having to wait on my next visit.

This channel is incredibly underrated

I personally choose whatever's sleek, functional, and ergonomic. Obviously Disney forgot mirrors exist, so curved lightsabers are out. A cross guard, one of the covers with a pad on one side and lines on the other, a Darth Maul cover, and a Darth Maul coupler. No big bulky parts sticking out to make me uncomfortable, which makes dueling easier.

Your design can definitely change. in the prequels they would loose their saber or it would get destroyed and then be replaced by the design that shows up in the original trilogy. Obiwan's episode 1 saber is different as well as anakin's episode 2 saber.

In the true canon (the books before Disney) Luke discovers that his mother was a Force wielder that was trained in the full spectrum of the Force. Light and and Dark are the extremes of that spectrum, and concentrating on one aspect blinds you to the other uses for the Force. Eventually he learns cool Force tricks like writing and reading messages hidden with the Force. So being a "grey" Jedi like Jacen Skywalker (read the pre-Devil, I mean pre-Disney books) became is being the ideal Jedi IMHO.
