My mum and dad just recently brought me the Blade 5 for my birthday, and so far I’m loving it, pristine darts board, 10/10 best dart board Ive used/seen

Love the Blade 5, and the feet on them make leveling and setting the board super simple, especially when you need to rotate (after I wear out the 1 segment hah).

Great video. Aside from making it easier for me to mount the dart board, video helped me realize that I wasn’t missing the 3 leaf springs that are used for non-Blade WINMAU dartboards 🙏🏻

Lovely to have a new board up isn't it? Just a note, the drill bit needed will depend on the size of the wall plugs you use, it will be specified on the plugs packaging, but otherwise good to see a quick vid of how to put a board up from scratch.

Still using my DMI Brigadier from Oct 2017. Most days it gets around an hour or so, gets turned two segments clockwise around three times a week and barely shows any wear at all. Not bad for being the least expensive board I've ever bought, around $35 back then. I just got tired of spending $50 - $60 every six months and having a board that was literally falling apart, so I decided to buy the cheapest sisal / razor wire board I could find. Turns out to be the best constructed one I've ever seen.

When you mark the wall, draw the line slightly longer then the width of the metal plate, which should be in the centre of the holes. I personally can’t remember if you get dome heads or countersink but I’d try an aim for dome head screws. With a countersink, if you don’t drill the holes perfectly in the centre, it will either pull to one side or the screw will bend. If you use screws whose head is flat on the underside, you’ll have a little more wiggle room because the metal plate won’t pull to one side. It’s not a problem if you’re screwing on to a wooden backboard but if like me, you were drilling in to a brick wall, and hit the mortar joint, it pulled to one side/higher/lower than my initial mark.

I religiously used unicorn boards for years,they are great when new,but they just don't last and after a couple of weeks they just don't hold onto your darts.Now I use Winmau they are more durable.The Gladiator 180 holds up pretty well but don't like the sound when ypur darts enter the board probably due to its harder construction.I have tried them all and Winmau definitely comes out on top!

Nice content mate. Question: any thoughts on how to protect a wooden floor from being damaged by darts? You have these rubber mats leading up to the oche, but they are too slim. Also, what if there is a cabinet next to the board? Sideways bounce outs can fly into the cabinet.

The board I have is a winmau MASTERS!!!it was made to last!weve had some great times and the wires been hit that mutch that its embedded.i bent it back out last week.i like the Blade series especially the 5! Yet the winmau Diamonds a cracking board and 32 pounds!for any starter or pro.38mm thickness too.same as the blade and original masters! Jack I thought you had to soak a new board? How come you've unboxed and moved straight to play! My masters was soaked allready didnt fit in the pub unit so my mate an me had 1 each off them.its s real good true old board....have a look at the new range of the best darts I've used from red dragon.theres sets in there for certain players the points are so sharp.stems ar amazing.flights are polymer!really stiff !I use vortex flights not the harrows.the Aluminium stems are my personal like favourite stems off all.i have spring tight and also these new reflex see through and you can see the double aluminium ring system in there the flights go straight in and isnt coming out unless you've robbin hooded them!!! But yes nice channel great tips!like soft tip.i never knew that it's different angles! Goes the board go up or down?

Good choice, I love my Blade 5, I've had Winmau boards all the time and they're top quality in my eyes. Are you considering getting a Target Nexus?

the only thing i would add, is if you can, find the stud in the wall so you can use it to anchor the board to the wall. My walls are plastic board, my board would probably hold without the stud, but its just extra to make sure the board doesn't fall down. I have a Blade 5 also :)

I've currently got a winmau diamond and had lasted so well, it reminds me very much of a blade 4, if you want a budget board consider it, my only tip would be to rotate it regularly, once it wears out I'm having a blade 5

I'm still throwing at a blade 4 DC. Don't really play at home cause i play a lot of darts elsewhere. Now that I'm staying at home and can't go out to play I will need a new board. I think I'm gonna try the gladiator board next.

Can you tell what is the distance between those wall mount screws? (Center to center) So I could drill the holes before my board arrives! Because I’m borrowing the drill atm. The board is Blade 6 but I assume the mount is still the same? Or is it😁

I started playing a few months ago. While throwing in a straight line is going better and better, the height of the darts may vary. Does anyone have tips on how to practice throwing on the same height everytime?

I have a blade 5 a blade 5 dual core and a gladiator 3 and my favorite is the G3 because not only the looks but it heels better and lasts longer in my opinion just my opinion. Happy birthday love the vieos

a good video idea could be playing darts on a Quadro board but I think there pretty hard to get.

Thank you for the excellent video. I have the same board and it performs very well. I might suggest that you get one of those 'referee spirit levels' to position the 20-segment in a perfectly vertical orientation.

This is frustrating. I bought Winmau Diamond Plus and it doesn't come with the black jacks instead it has 3 leaf springs. How do I fix them to keep the dartboard from moving? It does come with a manual. But it doesn't help. I can't find a single video of a setup with leaf springs. Just with 3 black jacks. Can anyone help me please?
