I think that Trump still has terrible judgement in picking people. I think that it's pointless trying to work out why Vance is Trump's pick. It'll largely come down to whoever last had a word in his ear when he decided to make a public decision. Vance is a terrible choice for Trump, and he will turn on Trump whenever it is convenient.

I think you are right. For a couple of months, I have been of the opinion that the choice of VP effectively was removed from Trump.
