Stephanie, I usually put a plastic bucket or crate over the area that I am treating so my dogs don't get into the bug/ant killer. Works great for us!!

That's scary. I've had to do the same thing with one of my dogs before. He got ahold of a bag of Hershey's chocolate kisses and ate the whole thing. It's not fun because you never know if you're doing the right thing or not. It's always nice to have someone with experience around to give good advice.

So happy your sweet fur baby is ok. Maybe it might be a good idea to contact that company and tell them your story. You never know, maybe other people have experienced the same thing. Did it have a warning message or did it give advice if ingested by humans or animals. Seems irresponsible of the company. Love you guys. I’m glad sweet Bri was an angel.

Thanks for sharing this. Years ago the dog I had got into rat poison at a friend’s house. Had to find a vet and drive quite a ways to get him there. They had to keep him overnight and give him an iv with vitamin K. We almost lost him but thank God he made it.

Good thing you were paying attention. Saved her life no doubt. Learned this the hard way also. I had a huge plant nursery next door. One of the employee's saw my dog eating the poison. Went to the vet and had stomach pumped.

I'm so glad Bri and Kim could help and Kanga is ok. Years ago my Newfie puppy chewed up a Decon box. Our Vet had me mix a half cup of peroxide and milk and have him drink it to throw up what he might have eaten. It worked. It was a scary time for sure!

I am so glad that Kanga is okay. Just so you and others are aware, giving peroxide to larger breeds (especially deep chested dogs) is very dangerous outside of a vets office. The peroxide causes gas, which could cause bloat and torsion. Per my vet, if you need to make a larger breed dog vomit and are not able to get to a vet fast to tube, feed salt versus peroxide.

Also some advice .We had a 10 lb JRT and my husband was out spraying weed killer and Zoey was running through the yard and then started licking her paws.Yep all that toxicity was on her paws.We almost lost her .2 very expensive days at vet hospital but she was worth every penny.She lived to be 15 yrs old bit we never sprayed weed killer again.Lesson learned..I'm so happy Kanga is going to be alright😊😊 Great information

Norma here. Poor Kanga. She looks exhausted. I can only imagine your panic, Stephanie. What a blessing that Bri is so knowledgeable regarding veterinary care. You just never know what our pets will get into. We used to use Amdro for fire ants until someone suggested using just plain old grits. It takes longer, but they work.
