I think Tom skipped this in the explanation, but you don't have to build a balcony to build higher (skip it). Which opens up another way of interaction, when one player expects you to build a balcony and invests to prepare for another. But if you skip your balcony, it is not possible to build next one and this this player has to change plans or even lose already built tower, if there is no other way to extend it on that turn.

Icons instead of text on the cards.

It may sound weird, but i prefer text on cards in older variant. I know icons are better for global distribution, but those icons doesn't seem very intuitive..

Looks just like Century Spice Road but with towers instead of spices.

If by looks you mean mechanisms it is nowhere similar. You don't just collect a few pieces and exchange them to get another one and score a card. There is speed element to get those balconies or bonuses for higher towers, also majority element for every tower. And there is a possibility for a mean interaction, by breaking towers for other players, stealing blocks, blocking building (you can just not build a balcony on your turn, skip it and build a higher step, when another player wanted to build a second balcony after you and thus can spoil his/her plans). Card selection choices are tough. I can go on, it is a very strategic and tactical game, whereas Century feels like automated collect and score thing. Also, Firenze came out long before Century. This is a reprint.

@@wroot_lt Nowhere similar...how about having the first card to draft free, but leaving currency (or spice) on the cards that you skip...just like Spice Road...you got to admit that that is similar...and I never mentioned that this was copied from Spice Road, just that to me them seem very similar.

@@bonehead797 Same mechanism in Small World and some other games, but i wouldn't call Small World just like Century. Yes, this one thing is similar. Many games share similar mechanisms, but feel different in general. As i have already mentioned Firenze has enough things to stand out.

Doesn't look like Century at all. It has that one mechanism in common that many other games also have. Plays totally different

Looks like a nice game, but I feel like the mechanics underpinning it would be better suited to a different theme. Maybe planetary terraforming or civilization building...

Symbology seems right since it's neither the artistic, religious or anthropological meaning of the symbols that is being refered to.

Actually, symbology is the right word here, Symbolism wouldn’t make sense.
