Reminds me of a cat at my grandpa's farm. She was a drop off, abt year old and pregnant, had to learn how to survive quickly. A year later, she was the best ratter. Two years later she had showed the tom cats who was the boss. When she was abt 8, old for a barn cat, another drop off showed up. Abt a year old and pregnant. Boss cat took her under her wing. 'hey girl. I've been where you're at. Follow me and I'll show you how I run this place'. And that is the story of how boss 2 came to be. Boss actually lived to be 12, boss 2 to 13. Which is twice as long as barn cats usually live. they probably showed a few coyotes who was the boss

Sad boy is one of the cutest cats I've ever seen. To see how sad boy and Lola both did not do well away from each other and how sad boy went from looking scruffy to clean the very next day Lola came back made my heart melt. I swear having cats teaches people boundaries and respect. To have and feed cats knowing they won't probably ever be lap cats and or super friendly yet still taking care of them and respecting there boundaries is what a true animal lover is.

Male cats, especially, have such hard lives in the wild because of territorial fighting. Sad boy is darn lucky to have his sweet gal next to him. They do for one another. It's all about an unseen frequency.
@sherine9033
@sherine9033 2 жыл бұрын
Fertile male and female cats have a very difficult street life. But in my opinion fertile females have it harder, if there are a bunch of males while they're in heat the males will literally pull the female as if they're fighting for a piece of meat, and in the infinite amount of mating the female keep getting bitten on the scruff which makes it bleed. And then they get pregnant which means they need more nutrition, but many stray cats usually can't even feed themselves properly since many neighborhoods are not that friendly towards cats. Then they give birth and need even more nutrition to feed the kittens with her milk, plus protecting the kittens cos other cats can kill her baby. And then she mates again, the cycle just never stops.

Almost 3 years ago, my mom saw a cat staying on our property. He never got close to our house even if we lure him. We witnessed how he deteriorated from a handsome cat to being skinny. Just last year, probably in his desperation to have food, he allowed my mom to feed him outside our house. Slowly, we were able to get him to come inside the house. Now, he stays inside for a few hours during his breakfast and dinner. He also allows me to pet him while sitting on my lap for short periods. He still prefers to spend much of his time outdoors but it's satisfying to have witnessed the change. It also brings us joy knowing we have provided him some comfort. Hope that these 2 cats you have there will someday warm up to you. Still, thank you for providing their basic needs to survive. Hope they will have more years together.

Never really thought of that part ... depending on the location, environment, etc.. when you rescue one, you may be separating them from a partner. And when their general health or attitude deteriorates because of that? Glad everyone involved on all sides thought it through and were sensitive enough to say hey we need to send her back to the colony and not put her in an animal shelter as a lost cause. As you can see and tell, that would have been tragic ... for both. Well done.

@@aniquinstark4347, so few and which species is relative to where you are. I am aware that cats are one of the developed world's most invasive species and is accountable to the loss and extinction of many birds. I was speaking to the situation at hand, though. It's the best case scenario for the cats themselves as far as their quality of life is concerned. Here in Minneapolis domestic cats run high risk of falling victim to parasite infestation in their throats due to eating wild rabbits. We just went through a Massive influx of wild rabbits over the last 3 years and they have become so prolific that they can even be found in city parking lots by the dozen. We have countless wild animals throughout the city but they remain hidden by nature, so seeing anything other than birds and squirrels means overpopulation. If it weren't for indoor/outdoor cats & dogs they would be out of control. I believe that people taking proper responsibility and getting their cats fixed would help exponentially in lowering the population of both cats and dogs. Nonetheless , You are fully correct.

lol Lola is a beast! It funny how Sad boy got fresh and clean when Lola came back. p.s I got couple feral cats fixed and let them live in my garage with door oper to outside. (very friendly nowaday) I think best bet is getting them fixed, feed amd build safe spot for them outside. (but then again all cats are different, some feral cats be more than happy to live indoors)

There's a bonded pair in the parking lot where I live, both ear tipped. I started working with them 2 1/2 years ago, and he was startled to be touched, but warmed up quickly, and now comes inside when he wants. I still can't touch her, but I'm working on it. I won't leave without both of them!

@@plaidpanda lol that is so sweet! I have the mom cat and two of her kids and they rarely leave eachothers side. Then I have one that hangs out by himself on porch. (He only leaves porch when he has to go to bathroom 😂) Give kitties a pet from me 🙏

The other day a hidden cat attack the dog of my girlfriend, that was on a leash. It attack first, the dog defense himself, my girlfriend tried to separate, the cat attack my girlfriend and the dog put in protection mode and kill the cat quickly. Now the cat is dead and my girlfriend have some scars for the rest of her life. Free roaming cats are not a thing to be proud.

I just adopted a 6 month kitten for my 9 month boy, within hours I had to introduce them and they have been like peanut butter and jelly since. They eat, sleep, play, teach each other mischief and follow each other around constantly. Although they are 2 boys they are just like Lola and Sad Boy 😻😻

Now I feel invested in this couple. They look so happy and content with each other. Lola is one fierce lady. Sad Boy is very lucky to have her. In the thumbnail I thought Sad Boy looked almost lion like in the face. You can immediately tell that's one big tom cat. Looks majestic.

This is a story of deep affection! More than bonding, but a love story! All animals are capable of loving, even more than we are. We can learn a lot about caring and devotion from them. You need to share your life with an animal to learn that.

rest in peace sad boy you were so loved. i guess two years for such an ancient being wasn't such big part of your life, but this two years you'd finally stop trying to survive and have learnt what it is - to live as a cat.

You should add a little warm water in with their kibbles (dry food). A cat eating dry kibble can need up to 200 ml of additional water to absorb the same amount of moisture as a cat eating wet food! Add about 1/4 cup (60 ml) of water to each helping to increase a cat's water intake, enhance the taste and scent of the food, and slow down eating while also making the food appealing.

Amazing! Whoever's said animals can't fall in love with another? Love is a universal feeling and not exclusive to mankind. And sometimes we get to observe and see the very rare glimpse of romance and love between animals. 🥰

What a lovely pair - cats can feel love. I have had a few couples over the years that were pair bonded and it's the truest love I've seen anywhere. I'm glad they have a person to look after them and they're being cared for.
