The most refreshing thing about Drew is that she genuinely LEARNS and appreciates the different points of views from her guests. So often, hosts try to be the "know all" and leave their personal experiences out of it. Drew so beautifully balances centering the speaker, engaging with them, and connecting with their experiences.

Profound what Megan said - that it's not about blaming our parents, they were doing the best they could but it was our subjective perception and the need to re-parent ourselves.

Yo get a library card. You can learn all the real self help stuff from just a few classic books that have stood the test of time. Like check out Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations and everything he has to say about how everything that affects you is just your perception and how you’ve chosen to react. You can change your perception and choose to not react and to not take everything others do as a personal attack. It’s really that simple. There’s not some secret stash of life hints, tips, and tricks that only the rich and famous have access to. You can access all the same information. You can educate yourself the same as people with advanced degrees in psychology. It’s just that a lot of people find it incredibly uncomfortable dealing with themselves and thus avoid it entirely. We’re all constantly lying to ourselves much more than we ever lie to other people. The hardest part is acknowledging all those lies and finally facing your real self.

I love her unabashed freedom to emote. The fact that she is creating infinite ideas through her poetry and poetics shows the true essence of creativity. The ability to rage against the dying light and actively seek rights for the wrongs as a poet shows her intellectual prowess. I haven't read her poetry but I would imagine that it is in line with the original rule-breaker and line-crosser Rumi, "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field.
