Great to know you can do these things. I've just bought the mini 3 and it's incredible! I can't get my head around how this tiny little plastic 'toy' can do all this stuff. There's some very intelligent engineers out there who put this thing together and for such a reasonable price! Wow.

I just got mine yesterday too. Super excited to get good, kinda wishing I would have paid the extra $250 for the extra batteries. Did you get the coverage plan that pops up on your RC and gives you 48hrs to decide?

@@jordanbrock8055for the extra batteries you can buy the Dji mini 3 pro fly more kit, it’s compatible but the propellers aren’t, or you can just buy the batteries separately

I love the Mini 3 and am glad we went with it, saving the cost on the Mini 3 Pro. It has substantially the same features, and is excellent kit. Glad to find this video, once again Matthew hits one out of the park with a great video on some features even I didn't know about!

One personal tip if you're new to the hobby: immediately purchase the warranty. No matter how careful you are, there's so much bs that can destroy your drone. I didn't buy it and thought I was being safe until I got attacked by a bird. I crashed and it cost $60 to send it back in for repairs. The cost would've paid for the warranty anyways.

100% I am decently experienced, but still managed to unrecoverably crash my drone in a lake on vacation last year. Insurance allowed me to pay 169$ for brand new drone instead of over 700$

Imho.. not worth it. Mini 3 bundle in costco is $340. DJI wants almost $100 for 2 year warranty with 2 fly always. Each fly away would cost you 1/2 price of the drone. DJI is too greedy.

@BB-fp6gh wife just bought mine for my bday from Costco and got to fly it today for the first time, I was concerned whether to get the warranty or not. Even if it's 100 for my first year wouldn't it be best I get it in case it crashes? Or I need to get it repaired for some reason? I mean paying $100 sounds better than paying $340 isn't it?

@@Jjoonaass one year is $59. Two year is $89. If you worry about crashing your drone, buy 2 year care refresh. I was talking about fly always costing 1/2 the price of the drone which is crazy imho.

Happy to help, and thanks for watching! Waypoints on the Mini 3 Pro would be great, and I would love to see them added - however I think they will probably keep waypoints for the Mavic 3 lineup.

I have written to DJI about waypoints and it looks promising that they are considering adding same to mini3pro. here is their latest response; "We are sorry to say that currently, we cannot make you any guarantee in terms of a specific date and time about when this will become available. In order to try my best to help you, I will further discuss it with our senior engineers and will get back to you within 3-5 business days. Thanks for your understanding and support of DJI. Best Regards, Jonathan DJI Technical Support" I feel that a little more pressure might push them into developing the upgrade.

Hey :) very useful video. Thank you for sharing . Can you tell us something more about the temperature range it can be used within ? What about winter time and below zero temperature? Or some heat above 30 degrees celcius ? Is it waterproof and can be used during rainy days ? Can it be charged with battery bank ? Which is the available space on it? Can I add extra memory card ? Thanks, Matthew! I didn’t know about the quickshot circle trick (I actually haven’t used the quickshot feature at all yet) and I didn’t know about the pano sphere. Pretty cool! Have you produced a video or have a suggestion about how to record tutorials using your phone for the audio with your drone flying nearby and doing video? I tried the other day with a lavalier and found that I had to get the drone pretty far away from me to not hear the propellers on the recording. Thanks!

I just got a Mini 3 and am eager to learn. This was very helpful. I had wanted the Mini 4 Pro, but thought I'd start with the Costco pkg. for the Mini 3, which was much cheaper, and break myself in to a more pricey one. Subbed for the learning as well as the accent! ;)

I've been rolling with an old school DJI Phantom 3 (standard) that is limited by its 720p camera. At the time, a bunch of years ago, 1080p was the gold standard. I never fly it anymore, in part because of the newer FAA restrictions of the bigger, heavy drones. I saw the Mini 3 at Costco last week for $100 off making it $299 and saw some of this current "ban" crap that's going on so I bought the Costco special and have already spent a couple-a-few hundred bucks additional for batteries, accessories, carry case, etc. The Mini 3 from Costco is the greatest deal and in reality, even though it's minus a very few marginally necessary features of the Pro, it's really all you need to have a blast with a drone and has some pretty awesome photography capabilities.

Great video, i dont have a laptop/ computer/ tablet. I saw this has a microcard. Do i lose picture quality on this drone if i process/ edit the videos through the app/ phone instead of using the microcard through a laptop, i saw on others it decreases the quality from 4K to 1080p. First drone and trying to decide also between mini 2 SE or mini 3 if anyone can advise. Many thanks

Hi Matthew, Really enjoying your channel as a "less than beginner pilot". I have a Mini 3, body only and Mini 3 Pro w/RC controller that should be here shortly. I was wondering if and how the RC controller works with two drones on the same controller. Is there a way to set up the controller to recognize each drone for appropriate setting? 11:40 I bought my first sony handycam in about 2004 or so. This trick was one of the first ones advertised back then to not break your lens. Because so many people were giving it as a tip, I always thought this was a huge practical concern. Well, now like 20 years later I realized that I have never bumped the lens of any of my cameras during the years to anything. I'm onto you, UV filter scammers! 😁😁🤣
