@@JeDxDeVu ok, let me fix that. Any smart person isn't doing it with hard earned money. Wealth doesn't work hard for it's money. Mine flows into a bank account monthly without one lick of work. Sure there are odinary working class folk that buy these watches, but that is not very smart. Most people have no savings, so if you are buying this stuff and aren't rich, you are not behaving financially very smart.

Congrats to your friend for his new watch.- The reason I mostly buy on the secondary market, new or pre-owned, is because I have "to be allowed" to give them my money. WTF? This "for display" policy/practice is what created the watch bubble and the subsequent crash prices we have experienced in the past almost 3 years. If a watch is there, I should be able to buy it on the spot or to order it and wait for my order to arrive. Not apply and wait to be "approved". I'm not asking for a line of credit at the bank ffs!

Disagree. The watch bubble is largely because of grey market people who buy watches just to resell it for a higher price. The sole purpose of a “boutique” is to have watches for people to see. I went to dubai for a week last month and i was immensely happy to finally see some beautiful AP watches in person. I couldn’t afford any of them to save my life but just staring at them made me happy 😂 hope you understand

I know the concept is difficult for non-collectors to understand, if you sold the display watches the ability to try the watch would be removed from the shopping experience. Also, the AP supply is limited. AP currently manufactures roughly 48,000 watches per year, world-wide, this is for all models and all finishes. Without controlling the product release you would only flood the grey market and loose control of the little control on the pricing. If you understand you understand and if you don't you don't, either you are a collector or a flipper/grey market reseller and these are collector pieces. If you simply want a nice watch to wear you can buy a nice watch at any watch store.

CONGRATS on this huge rare timepiece! I picked up this watch 2 weeks ago! ONE OF THE BEST DAILY OFFSHORES you can have! If not the BEST one!! This is truely a collector piece, honestly. Especially cause it‘s loud big and especially timeless. Never out of fashion, with this dial and those straps! Anyways AP makes around 40-50k watches so it goes without saying that not everyone gets these watches and they are limited by themselves already. They trade currently around 48.000-50.000€ to 60.000€ (when the market peaked) so a real solid collector timepiece in my opinion if you keep it for the very long term! At least +40-60%!! Such an extreme stunning piece !!!! I LOVE MINE so much! This watch will stay with me. Got so lucky! Congrats again on yours aswell! Take care man! Greetings

I don’t like grey market either when it comes to some models that they have to sell a lot more the retail price, but for this AP 43mm you can get it under retail now from grey market.

Wow that’s the nicest AP I’ve seen… love it well done on the purchase from an AD 👍 I’m not in that league but a Rolex DateJust 41, Tudor GMT Pepsi, TISSOT 2000 Seastar is the best I can do in the past 12 months.. I’m happy with what I have and an AP is definitely a grail piece 😁

oh I think a few months but I don't remember exactly, maybe half a year back he asked for the first time about it. I think it is best if you narrow down your selection a bit, follow up every now and then and visit the boutique frequently for some good watch. talk :)

So lesson learned from this, if you want to buy an AP or Rolex from official AD in Dubai with no previous history, get an Emirati friend :). Nevertheless I am sure he deserved it.
