Great job! I was thinking of something like this in a tiny home in the small "living room". I thought of hiding it even more by bumping out the wall the thickness of the bed to accommodate the bed. I like the curved bottom, I too seen that video, it is a great idea. I think I want a pivot point of some kind. I need to keep it attached to the wall at that point. Unfortunately no has done it yet on a tiny home I believe. But your gets me thinking that's for sure. Thank you

I wish I could! I designed it in fusion 360 and they changed their subscription rules so I got locked out. The brackets are just "folding shelf brackets" I got off of Amazon. The clasps are from south co and they have a massive selection

do the collapsible bed legs stay collapsed while driving? doesn't seem like they lock when in closed position. I love this build.

They didn't originally, but I added in magnets to make them stay put

I totally would if I could find them! The radius on the legs that they roll down is nearly the full height of the bed (which can be whatever you want it to be) , and I made the platform to be 3 in wider than the mattress on all sides. Honestly, most of this was just kind of improvised and thrown together.

Probably not 😅 it's not really at a quality level where I'd feel comfortable selling to people. It would need some work.

@@boredtexas7778 being crummy at something is the first step in being sort of good at something. If you can afford a crummy junker of a van, there's plenty of KZfaq videos to watch where people show you everything you need to do. Having a SO that doesn't camp definitely makes things difficult though.

How funny - I was just thinking how glad I was that this video moves along. Some of them I swear I can feel my hair turning grey whilst I watch them! Haha But I get what you’re saying. Try going through the video slowly, pausing a lot and taking notes. I’m not sure how much carpentry experience you have, but if there’s something you just can’t figure out from this video, it is probably something to do with general carpentry. Have a look at a tutorial or two about working with wood and you’re all set. Happy camping!

Hey Brad, is there any easier way a female can do this alone without this fancy tools? What was the saw thing cutting the frame?

I cut the curved sections out on a CNC router, but you could just as easily trace a pattern onto plywood, and cut it out with a handheld jigsaw, then sand down the rough edges. 5 X sheets of plywood at about $40 each 3 X shelf hardware at $50 each Assorted hardware ~$50 Full size Amazon basics memory foam mattress $200 So about $600

Waste of plywood! Why didn’t you use a jigsaw to cut those frames? CHC machines are suited for production of multiples.

It's just a rectangular frame mounted to the wall of the van with angle brackets, that the bed fastens into with those clasps. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.
