Mcclean is a liability, with his reckless tackle I'm surprised he wasn't subbed off to avoid a possible 2nd yellow. None of his crosses found a team mate and his defensive clearances just booted anywhere, usually to the opposition.

the "dropped ball" wasn't controversial in any way. It is not allowed to kick a football out of the hands of the goalkeeper. McClean got a yellow, so don't understand why you think that was controversial. I of course agree about the penalty, but in the end it wouldn't have mattered. Mansfield wasn't at the top of their game today. No clear goal chances and Wrexhams defence was near flawless. Wrexham intercepted so many balls and worked tirelessly the whole game. Fair win!

The linesman didn't say anything about the penalty decision because he spent the whole game looking at the ref and supporting his decisions. Plenty of throw-ins were his flag didn't go up until he saw which way the ref pointed.

If you watch the McClean incident again, it's both players clattering into each other that causes the damage to the defender....both full blooded into it too, with defender getting the ball a nano-second before JM so nothing intentional there and JM could quite easily have been injured too. Don't even think it was a yellow IMO.

You might be right on the first, but INITIAL contact has to actually occur within the penalty area for it to be a penalty. Seen that happen many times before to know.

Clearly outside the box. Linesman should have seen it but he was useless all game, constantly looking at the ref and flagging whatever the ref indicated. Still, from a Wxm point of view it helped balance out some of the clear pens we didn't get this season.

Hard done by? Sorry, Mansfield made nothing of any of their changes. Arthur lost control because the player made contact with him holding the ball. The call was right by the Ref. It wasn't a penaltie, but it wouldn't matter either way, Mansfield was shyt. I watched the whole match, and Mansfield did nothing when they got the ball. The better team won

Refereeing was fine. Some missed calls but the only questionable decision was the pk. Which you can easily argue either way. Mansfield had it 2/3 of the time and nearly equal penalties. Nearly every loose ball was called with a penalty b/c it was a clash. Mansfield just wasn't figuring it out play wise at the goal with Wrexhams in your face ambush of an opponents shot line defense. Wrexham had more tackles, more tackles won, 2x as man clearances and 4x as many blocked shots. The better team won, that's not the refereeing.

@@mephisto03 should've had a man sent off in first few minutes. Disallowed goal should have been given, penalty decision was woeful. Refereeing was certainly not fine

Had the Mansfield player been in control of the ball at the time definite red, as it was... 50/50. The penalty decision was demonstrably wrong. Ref was too far away, and the lino didn't have the bottle to stand up to his decision.

Why would that have been needed? Wrexham was the better team all over. A solid defence, so much energy and hard work from everyone and some magnificent play.

And why don't you mention that the Mansfield player should have gotten a red for that tackle on Bolton since Bolton would had been the last man with the goalkeeper? Even these matches when Wrexham clearly dominates people still blame the referee.

If you watch the video at the moment it happened you'll see a Mansfield player raise in hands as he knows the goal will be disallowed.
