This guy not only can sing but the lyrics can be geared to anybody going through hard times, I love the message of the song "Open up your eyes cant you see I'm good enough" this talks to employers, family, friends, and haters in one. Love the song very powerful message

this song never fails to hit me hard no matter how many times I listen to it, I have to hide the real me just because I'm not good enough for those around me. It's hard pretending to be something you are not and for most of us we continually seek love and acceptance from our parents no matter how old we are

I really wish I was in the room. I felt the pain through my TV. I feel the passion playing it on repeat. And now watching this performance, I just KNOW being in that room as he was singing and his voice was washing over the crowd must have felt close to magic.

Lol in inexperienced engineer it must be. I have never done any work as a vocal engineer professionally but I do make music for fun. Its very easy to hear that theres pitch correction going on in all of the Empire songs. Its been pointed out in several reviews. The reason they do it is to keep the production costs as low as possible. Studio time costs alot of money quickly fixing the notes with autotune goes a lot faster than having to do multiple takes till the singer gets it right, But you'd know that as an engineer :)

As a studio/post production intern here in LA I can tell you that pitch correction is always somewhere in a huge tv show like Empire, or any show that does music in every episode. Whether its small or a lot of it, it's somewhere. Jussie barely needs it yeah, but its sprinkled in places for sure.
