Yeah, it was so bizarre to have a forest on one side, a huge sand dune, then a beach. Such a crazy place!

Neat forest dune sea place to know about, sorry you got a pain from it, very beautiful destination. I know people try to be hard about sun exposure, as it mingles with "work" but I like how those silver on outside and black lining umbrellas keep you cooler. Don't have to transition as much going outdoors from inside. I carry a small sun umbrella in winter. Know that snow sports gets you burned too. If do year round your natural color comes through and if paler means you have a sign that you are under the weather. Umbrella supporter since 2015. Long sleeves and hat and sunglasses helps if can't wrangle umbrella culture. Worth it and good reminder it matters.

Cool! I went there as well. It is near Arcachon, the biggest sand dune in Europe. I did went there by train, but I needed transportation to a campsite from the station. Getting back from the beach was terrible, climbing back on the fine sand of the dune under a hot sun. Am digging through your vlogs, I really like them. Also the collaboration with other vloggers I follow. Refreshing. Keep them coming! Greets.

Thanks for sharing this. Brings back a lot of memories! I lived 2 years and a half in Bordeaux :) I see you had a great time at la dune and in Arcachon! Enjoy the rest of your stay in the area. And if you can take a boat to go around the entire bay from Arcachon. It's beautiful - but don't forget the sun cream ;)

Years ago I got a really bad sunburn and got quite sick for several days. I hope for you it was only painful and not also bad sick. On the previous video "she got really sunburnt" I posted a comment on how I avoid bad sunburns. Maybe it will work for you also. I hope you never get such a bad sunburn again. Again I am enjoying your travel vlog. Thank you for the extra work that you do to share your travels with all of us.

Allison, when you get sunburned get some cider vinegar. Put a cup of the vinegar in a bath and sit in it. When you get out pat dry and have Eric gently dab cider vinegar on the burn. It takes the sting and helps moisterize the skin. Sorry about spelling.

I actually quite liked this video....I’m in Bordeaux now and planning to go to the sand dunes tomorrow!!!!! Now I’m armed with the information one needs IE bring sunscreen 😭😭 bring refreshments, don’t load yourself up. 1 Thank you for suffering for our no pain..❤️

That was definitely one of the worst sunburns ever...just thinking about it makes our skin hurt, haha! So glad to have you along for the adventure :)

Those dunes are anazing but apparently climbing them in high thirty degree weather and heavy jeans is not a great idea

Next time you get a sunburn, take some aspirin, have a warm (not hot) shower, drink lots of clear liquid (Gatorade-type stuff is good, but preferably without the chemicals!) and rub in either aloe vera or calamine-based lotion. Cool compresses help, too. I know this video was a while ago, but I seriously feel your pain. Also, in France you always should go straight to the pharmacie and ask the chemist for their recommendations. They have wonderful homeopathic remedies over there xox

Pop some pain meds! It helps with the inflammation of the skin caused by sunburns so it doesn't hurt as much.
