He would've if he hadn't featured stupid shitty romantic scenes and songs. The movie was all over the place lacking focus. If he'd made straight up focused movie on a cop doing everything he could bring down criminals, then he'd have been considered for a national award.

Theeran adhigaaram ondru, one of the raw-rustic police story film in Tamil cinema, Karthi is absolutely lucky to have so much of good films in his career. Let's take a look at his excellent filmography; 1:Paruthiveeran(2007) Raw & rustic village drama with a tragic climax. Karthi's best ever performance, that too in his first film. 2:AayiratilOruvan(2010) High octane fantasy with extraordinary performances. GVP 4th hero of this film. 1:Parthiban 2:Karthi 3:Selva 4:GVP 3:Paiyaa(2010) first happy-go-lucky urban character. A well-written commercial film with TOP NOTCH album, thanks to Na.Muhukumar YuvanShankarRaja. 4:Naan mahaan alla(2010) nail biting action thriller, climax fight sequence 💥 5:Siruthai(2011) A pakka mass commercial movie with energetic dialogues and screenplay, fine and best remake much better than original. 6:Saguni(2012) Superb political one-line movie but writing was poor. But enjoyable film. 7:AlexPandian(2012) Hmmm, not all actors will give 100% hits in their movies, some movies could be failure too. 8:All in All azaghu raja(2013) same old, same old story but Karthi and santhanam saved little bit. 9:Biriyani(2013) .. Yeah.. 🙂 10:Madras(2014) A much needed comeback with a very good story and performance, a might was broken by this film that only commercial films can give comeback. 11:Komban(2015) Karthi + rural-subject => ❤️‍🔥 12:Kaashmora(2016) An experimental film with superb vfx/editing. Only some actors can do comedy like a real comedian, after Kamal Hassan sir,Thalapathy VIJAY, its one and only Karthi. 13:Thozhaa(2016) a well indianzied french remake with uber-cool left hand performances of both Karthi and Nagarjuna, one of the best feel good movies in Tamil/Telugu respectively. Production design was 💜💜💜💜 14:Kaatru Velitidau(2017) Problem about the film is nothing it's an enjoyable film with extraordinary score by ARR and cinematography by Ravi Varman I don't know why it flopped at Box office and got disaster talks. One of my favorite film. 15:Theeran adhugaaram ondru(2017) as I said before one of the well-written and detailed raw-rustic police film ever made in Indian cinema. 16:Kadaikutty singam(2018) Karthi + Ruralsubject => ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 17:Dev(2019) Yep. Another flop after some Blockbusters. Vanthiyathevan character every actors dream starting with MGR,Kamal,Rajini,Vijay everyone voracious about the role but finally god gave it to Karthi. Karthi = Vanthiyathevan and Vanthiyathevan = Karthi. A perfect casting. 23:Sardar(2022) good story with old screenplay format but Karthi's terrifying performance made movie to BLOCKBUSTER. Difference is this movie based on true events & more importantly it was not written for sake of hero. Whereas Vijay or Ajith or Rajini etc any mass hero don't act in these kind of movies. All they do is fool audiences in the name of heroism. For example Beast & Valimai

These things never happened in the real dacoit case . They are added in the film to increase the commercial value.

The research work & info gathering is appreciable, sarcasm & negligence of police hierarchies is well portrayed. everybody in this movie have given their best, credit should be given to whole team "TAO". But a special thanks to H.vinoth & karthi. Because the director & lead actor are two important pillars for any "film" !! One brilliant scene where suspected criminal & partners are shown for 1st time, playing fun on ground and A1 criminal who is still unknown, is lying on top of lorry, Simply says he is on top of all. Rain starts pouring on villain & hero at same time, showing both are within the radius of rain. Culprits look funny, but they are packed hunters !!! Well written & designed scene, visual & BGM gives that pulse of film !

I'm a sri lankan and it is very sad to see, how people are applauding Karthi or the Director even but not saddened by the hard work of the actual police men and women who sacrificed so much so that many can live today. I love the film.. love the acting, great screen play and direction and very smart casting too. But as a lover of movies that portray true stories I was extremely saddened that the true heroes have been forgotten by so many.
