Great videos. Love how they are always engaging and entertaining as well as knowledgeable. My wife couldn't wait back in summer and wanted her 2.0 quad i5 13" macbook with 16 gigs of ram. I'm not mad. It's a nice machine being our last one lasted 10 years and my previous dual g5 tower ended its legacy when Apple switched to Intel so I known new laptops days are numbered. Suggestion for a new video. The business layout of your KZfaq business so you can write off all these awesome toys.

@@TazzSmk sure, just depends on your use case. Plenty of dock/dongle options out there for now, but the lack of ports is the same reason I’m not buying a new MBP (yet).

Great video and I agree. I upgraded from a 2016 MBP to the M1 Mac Mini. I have Logitech's MX Keys for Mac keyboard and the MX Master 3 mouse for Mac. I had Bluetooth issues with my Mac right out of the gate until I unpaired them from the Mac's Bluetooth and paired them with Logitech's unifying receiver. Problem solved. And they are so much nicer to use than Apple's peripherals!

@@MZ95 find me one small form factor pc or laptop that is the same price but has better performance in benchmarks, I’m not talking about how many ports or whatever there are because obviously there are other cheaper laptops with more ports. I’m not sure if intels NUC line beats the Mac mini but I’m almost certain that in raw performance nothing beats the MacBook Air in the same price range

Bought a baseline model, then decided to buy a second mini with just the 16Gb RAM upgrade. The storage options are in fact outrageous! Thankfully I use external storage regardless on my PC and now my Mac!

I love it. I’m not a computer geek. I just need it to run fast and something my kids won’t break. Its so small and I hooked it up to a wireless cheap keyboard and mouse I brought online. I did the whole set up in like 10 minutes. It’s amazingly fast. Storage is good for students. Worth every dollar.

I ordered the same model you ordered. I'm dying for an absolutely silent M1-Compatible eGPU I can add to my Mac mini and game. If that doesn't come but future Macs suddenly game well, I'll upgrade and situate my dad with the 2020 mini.

I ordered mine on a Tuesday and got it Wednesday. Ordered it with 8gb RAM and 512gb SSD - all from BHPhoto with a good discount. After running my 2010 iMac (8gb RAM and 1tb SSD) this computer is simply light years ahead. I'm running all my development tools and some great games too. I could not be happier.

Great video as always! So, CyberLink PowerDirector 365 just released for MacOS (I’ve always used it on my Windows Laptop), and I was wondering if you could test that out on one of the M1 Macs so that I know what to expect (preferably, the Mac Mini or the MacBook Air).

mine came 3 days ago, (loved your review). Now, due to a flood in my home, im forced to go to a hotel. the adjuster said due to the holidays and covid, i might be there for many weeks. So, this is my last post as i am packing up my 32" monitor and Mac mini for travel. Laughing Out Loud

I just got the base Mac mini for $530 I thought it was a steal of a deal. I just set it up and am watching this video on it. I'm going to look into some of the accessories, first will probably be a Samsung t7 drive. Thanks for the videos your videos are some of my favorites.

I had the last Mac mini as my main computer and the bluetooth connection issue was the worst thing in the world. I had to use wired mouse and keyboard. I now have the 16" MacBook Pro and it's now only an issue every so often, nothing like the Mac mini.

I’m just looking for a simple desktop pc and I wanted to move to Mac to complete my Apple sphere (along with iPad Pro and iPhone). Luckily I’m using old school speakers that plug into the 3.5 jack and a Logitech keyboard/mouse that’s uses the universal dongle instead of Bluetooth. This takes care of all of my needs...and the price was good enough I upgraded the memory to 16g. I purchased the Satechi hub which I think is a must for anybody that purchased a Mac Mini. I think everyone should expect some growing pains with some apps...but eventually they’ll smooth out with a few updates. It shouldn’t be a deal breaker if your patient enough.

Random question but since you mentioned you only use Bluetooth peripherals, do you know if Bluetooth gaming is accurate enough yet? Not for professional scenarios obviously but just at home casual FPS/MOBA/MMORPG use, is wireless still needed or is Bluetooth fast enough now?

I just got one and it seems to be running as designed, seems that video editing with filters, noise reduction and stabilization will slow things down to a less then optimal pace. Seems like some multicore functions could use some updating? Am I right?

I’ve been incredibly impressed with the results people have been reporting. I’m curious to see what the Pro models will manage. If Apple would lighten up on the Apple-tax on memory, and tighten down their privacy concerns with Big Sur, they would win over many new customers. I’m impressed.

Interesting. I have the BT issue on the updated 2018 Mac Mini. Didn’t know it was a known issue. I was thinking it was the trains. Pretty bad when it goes out when I’m doing my nightly show which it has done for the first time yesterday and today. Going to upgrade to the M1 Macbook Air. You’re wrong on the monitors. 6 on the M1 Mac mini, 5 on the M1 Macbook Air.

I assume you will be doing a compare video soon, of the base mini model & your 16gb mini.. what would you say now is the performance difference between both? In need of a new mac, (starting out in video editing), sooner than later for the an upcoming project, & need to order soon, because of delivery dates. Thoughts?.. I used to have a 2013 13'MBP that I used for school and after graduation I started using for work. I'm Portuguese/English proofreader for publishing houses and marketing companies and mainly use Word, Excel/Numbers and Adobe PDF Pro on a daily basis, besides web browsing for fact-checking. During lockdown my sister accidentally dropped a full 1L water bottle on my macbook and since that I started using a 2011 iMac that I borrowed from my dad (the machine he used for work before he retired a few years ago). Should I upgrade to a M1 Macbook Air or Pro? Do you think I should wait for the 14' MacBook Pro coming next year? Or it will be "too powerful" for my kind of workload? Thanks in advance!

OK dumb question..........my wife current runs a dated iMac 27’ and I’m looking for a replacement. Should I simply get a newer version of the 27’ iMac or go Mac Mini and get a monitor for less cost? Appreciate any advice and thanks.

I don't know if it is complement or not. A month back, to be specific - during September or October when all tech company started to launch their product. I have realised that I have subscribed to too many tech review channel. That resulted in further introspection on how I spend my time. Doing so I have unsubscribed to many of tech review channel including, Austin Evan, Jonathan Morrison, and even MKBHD. I really like watching your video even though you have only made M1 video for past month or so. I appreciate what you are doing and some what look forward to you for inspiration.

because 7:00 you can get a external M.2 NVME SSD case + the M.2 NVME SSD and have over USB-C the same speed (or max. 100-200mb/s down), but yeah I understand that not everyone wants to have a external drive with him

My problems with iMac (late 2013) started after Apple forced me to update the original OS. For last couple of years it’s been nothing but downhill. I’m ready for a new computer!

I agree about your point about m.2. I had to trade in my MacBook Pro with 256GB SSD because the SSD wasn't upgradable on it. Enter my MacMini M1, (hopefully) future-proofed with 1TB SSD.

I really wish razer chroma software worked on macs. I would love a sweet ass mac mini setup with an RGB mouse and keyboard. Just imagine how well this would do if apple had a really nice imac like external display as well, that wasn’t as expensive as their xdr display.
