Mac OS is a lot easier to use and you’ll pick it up very quickly. Little tip, the “close” “minimise”and “expand” buttons in the top right on windows are on the top left for Mac OS :)

Hey there. If you want to insure a decent life for your laptop, or if you frequently do graphic intensive tasks, then you should definitely go for 16 gb RAM. Otherwise 8gb RAM also works pretty well. For coding purposes do get the 16gb RAM for sure!!!!!!!

I just graduated with my AAOT (Associates of Arts Transfer Degree), and am starting at PSU (Portland State) in the fall to complete my bachelors. My mom surprised me and bought me this laptop at Costco last week. When I was young, someone told me to live within my means. I never got into Apple products because of this. Now that I own a Mac. I want to say, "It's true! It's so true!! These laptops are AMAZING!!!"

I think no native support have been updated yet for the M1 chip, so performance would be severely handicapped at the moment.

I frequently run out of 16 gb ram, you only need to run 2 virtual machines which is common during malware analysis

Hey there. I actually just purchased the same config a couple days ago. The M1 chip is amazing! I have no usable vision, so I’m not sure what color Mac you purchased. I purchased the space gray color. I’m also a fan of this new keyboard. I really disliked the butterfly keyboard. The keyboard that I really enjoyed before this keyboard was the keyboard on my mid 2012 Mac book Pro. It feels strange, (yeah cool), to be coming from a mid 2012 MacBook Pro to this one. I’m glad I held off on purchasing a MacBook until now. As for the SD card reader, I too wish that the new Mac book pros had that. This is why I am keeping my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. I also love that the accessibility features come up as soon as you booed up the MacBook for the first time.Awesome video!

It has unified RAM in the SoC and Apple talked about it in the event - I do believe it is considerably faster than the Intel RAM communication

Hey! Super confused between macbook air 16 gb and macbook pro 16 gb.. my usage- note taking, research work (minimum 10 chrome tabs open), Netflix, youtube, little bit gaming, taking online classes. I use my laptop for about 6-7 hours daily. Longevity is important for me so I hope the device lasts 5+ years comfortably. Which one should I go for?

Good video. Question - my current MacBook Pro is a 2011 and no longer eligible for updates. (Yes. Still runs.) Even though I back up in Time Machine, I'm worried connecting it to my new MB Pro will transfer 9 years of old junk files and apps. Any suggestions on the best way to avoid this problem? Thanks.

For people asking about the difference between 8 gb and 16 gb.. Running multiple heavy memory usage apps can cause the 8gb model to run out of memory quite fast. If you're going to bite the bullet and spend big $$ for a new Macbook, then you might as well go for the 16 gb.

SInce you have the Dell 9500 15 and the Macbook Pro 13"....which laptop would be your daily diver if software was not an issue? Meaning say all the software I use works on both. I just bought the 9500 and can still return it and get the Macbook. I want to move to one laptop but 99.99 of the software I use is either browser based or works on both. OR. Just wait for the 16" M1 or what ever they are going to put in it.

I just bought a (new) XPS15 with I-7 and 1650ti but only HD screen (arrived yesterday). My first gen Retina MBP 15 from 2012 still has a sharper screen with more depth (less bright, though). So now I wonder if I should return it and get this. A bigger screen really helps and I'm mostly working in Rhino and soon Fusion 360. I also wonder if I even need the extra dedicated GPU. Any idea?

Hey I have a little question, for my birthday I can decide between the new MacBook Pro with the M1 (16 Ram and 512 ssd) or the MacBook Pro with the Intel i5 and the Four thunderbolt (Same like 16 RAM and 512ssd). I got the MacBook Air M1 and MacBook Pro M1. I use the MacBook Air M1 for school, and homework. Meanwhile, I also use the Pro for personal stuff, and school. (in case my Air battery is dead) and I love those MacBooks with M1! I’ve had a very very good experience with the M1 chip.

M1 macs are basically silent. MacBook Pro M1 has one fan which only kicks in under really heavy load, the MacBook Air M1 doesn't have a fan at all. :) They are great machines for school.

I got a 2015 13“ and it never spins up from zoom so the M1 should fly through it. It doesn’t even spin up doing 120fps fortnite afaik
