the reason why there are no garbage cans in public places in japan is very sad. In 1995, the Aum sect carried out a poison gas attack on the Tokyo subway and many people died. before that, they repeatedly blew up trash cans to practice. that's why it was decided that there would be no more public trash cans in japan. but you can always find some in the konbinis and even those are under video surveillance.

Hello, Jennifer. I looked away for a minute and the kids are all grown UP!! Japan has to be my number one dream vacation (after Texas...go figure 😏) and it's such a delight to "join" you on the trip. Japanese people highly value good manners and I could tell that you and the family were very respectful of that. I was happy to see all of your faces: Kenzy needed a time out for a while, and I'm happy she's back. You look beautiful as always. Thank you for these delightful videos. I know I'll be watching them more than once. Hugs...🤗

They have come all the way to a sushi restaurant, but everything they order is so meaty!🤣 I wish I could have tried some of the typical Japanese dishes like salmon, crab cakes, inari sushi, chawan-mushi(savory egg custard), etc....

When I was in Mexico, my friend and I walked for like an hour. I was afraid we weren't going to make it back, and I have like no direction skills. (I get lost in my own city). This was pre-cell phones too, and we didn't have a map. But my point was she was carrying some trash. I tried to get her to set it down, she was probably right to keep it. I don't remember if we had a purse or a bag with us.

Just an fyi in Japan it is considered disrespectful to eat while you’re in the go, so the lack of trash cans around probably stems from that. If you want to eat find an area to sit and eat as it is more respectful. I don’t mean to say this to be rude as I didn’t know either till I did a lot of research and have watched a lot of videos like yours about going to Japan. Hope this helps ❤!

Very enjoyable & informative sharing, thank you!! There were a few moments you reminded me of a news caster on tv explaining things. That sushi place seemed awesome for the price!! The grocery store did seem overwhelming with all the advertising everywhere. Those 7-11 pizza bao buns seemed amazing & those cheese pulls said a lot!!! Awesome to see the down the stairs, kinda underground of Japan too, very curious.
