Timers aren't too hard. He's got a simple 60Hz counter somewhere in the control block, the circuits below the number display divide the tick count into minutes/seconds-tens/seconds-ones/tenths, and from there it's just a question of setting up the lamps to display each digit. The last part is the hardest, in my experience.

oh wow, the lack of vocals makes this song a thousand times better.... Now, if i could only get one that doesn't sound like it's being played on a C64.... (nothing against C64 though, in it's time it had the best damn soundchip on the market...)

Sakreton Hard to say exactly, since most of the time went to writing the scripts that are reusable, but it took a few days total
