Secondeded! I've never been sold on the psychedelic 'nids schemes. Keep 'em Alien / Starship Troopers -looking - and this is a spectacularly good way to go about that. Great work.

What schemes like this lose a little vs the GW ones is when you put the whole army down on the table the brighter GW style ones really pop. Realistic schemes tend to blend in and not stand out at all. I guess that's what a predatory space bug would want to do though haha.

This is spectacular, the thing has a life of its own. I love your style and your approachable explanation of the various techniques - I’d seen the contrasting base airbrushes before but only ever to produce cartoonishly bright coloured gradients, I didn’t realise quite how subtle and versatile it could be.

Damn... I painted my first McFarlane genestealer in standard Leviathan colors, but definitely have to redo it and the other two now. I love this look even more so that the lighting looks more dark DARK teal rather than black, and it works so damn well. Leviathan has the generic nid/zerg look, but this just looks fucking unsettlingly scary - when applied to a real world mindset. Funny purple bugs VS perfect lowlight/dark camo bugs.

Really awsome. I started this year painting and I think Tyranids are great. So I bought the Leviathan Box but I didn‘t know which color I should try to give them, but I think yours looks better than the originals, so I will put yours on them.

Are you using some type of enamel remover to wipe off the streak and grime? Or will dipping the q tip in water suffice?

No definitely dont use water! U need mineral spirits or white spirits x

does the shell highlighting not come out bright enough if you dry brush the gray on before the enamel paint?

Question, do you varnish before enemals and did you basecoat any other color before your beige or did you put it directly on the plastic ?

Bascoat on black or the beige. (Primer). And no i didnt varnish, but you can

@TheFeralPainter thanks for the reply. I didn't my entire world eaters army white and oileash and did varnish them, because I was scared of wiping off paint. I also saw you use the foam makeup wipers in your norn video, did they also like expand with the thinner for you as well? Mine sort of expanded quite a bit

What kind of airbrush do you use? Also do you have a list of paints you use throughout your grimdark series? I can just watch the videos and write them down if not! I tried using the element games link, but I'm having trouble navigating it.

Hi thanks for the comment. I dont have a list for this one. However my newer vids do. Yes u could write them down. I currently have a harder n stienbeck ultra 2024 its awesome! And well within a budget. Its better than my high end infinity cr plus
