@@tristshapez Life's too short to live with regrets. I'm sure it's great and I'm a little jelly, but I've got a ton of stuff waiting for me to ride and review in my garage right now. Plus, my riding style on the Onewheel was never about speed or bonks or big drops... it was always about the chill cruise so I'm not sure how big of a difference the update will make for me. I'll circle back to the GT eventually.

@@Ty-ye8rd After finding out it was false, I'm deleting my comment about the motor hub serialization. FM still needs to end their BMS disconnect bricking GT's "for safety" lies, though. They're shooting themselves with that move, unnecessarily creating e-waste for those who live too far to ship to CA and adding authorized repair centers doesn't fix the truth of why they did it, they are beyond greedy with that move and know very well its not for safety but profit and control.

@@AuRowe All this stuff I read about the GT is what made me go an hour out of my way to buy an XR at a off the beaten path dealer. I honestly just can't afford to send my GT back and forth if it doesn't work out of the box. That is already a lot of money, let alone spending it on a toy that doesn't work is just not an option. I would much rather buy an older version of their product I know that works. Funny enough I was considering buying a used XR or driving 7 hours one way to go get one but thankfully I found one closer. 😅

This is what I love about the TFL crew. Informative, spreading stoke and positivity, not succumbing to the hate train out there. They recognized the issues and they still focused the good, and worked with FM to improve it. Meanwhile developing the dopest mods, tires, accessories. I am so stoked to go ride.

Fellas, off topic but I used to work as a designer for a Snow/Skate mag here in Canada and the vibes at The Float Life remind me of our old crew and the stoke we had. Mini ramp and all. Watching your vids gets me all nostalgic, love tuning in.

If you're on the fence about the GT, the wait is over my friends. I was considering cancelling my order after all the noise, but sooo glad I didn't. GT absolutely smokes with v6.1 and XRs will never be able to keep up. Game-changer!

This was incredible to watch! Been gearing up for a GTR mod (enduro, rim covers, etc) and now that this firmware is out and setting a good precedence, it’s finally time to go all in and get the board. Thanks fellas.

so the gt has improved a lot !!!!? I'm now riding a WXR, and I've already spent a good amount of money I'll leave the GT for next summer in New England, if I move to Florida sooner I'll rethink buying it first…. congratulations for the videos you are the best !!!

See how much happier EVERYONE is when FM listens to feedback and takes unnecessary restrictions off the Onewheel. Now, all we need is replaceable FM batteries and we are golden. NOT mods! Just normal FM GT batteries.

Idk how we'll get to replacing batteries so long as serialisation and volatile bms memory exist, but this firmware was a decent upgrade nonetheless :)

@@Ty-ye8rd I am open to evidence that proves me wrong, I love my pint x and XR and support the onewheel movement but can do so while disagreeing with FM about their RTR sabotaging of the GT. I found this out from Louis Rossman's youtube video from 2 days ago titled "Onewheel GT has a serialized motor that you can't even pay them to fix - WHAT THE #$&@".

I’m so mad they got rid of the “motorless” ghost rides! That was like my favorite thing about the GT 😔 Ohhh but thank god, we got an audible beep at pushback so whenever a GT passes a pedestrian the only thing they notice is that it’s screaming like a Chinese hoverboard

If they can adjust the pushback profile on a GT over the air why can't they do that for Pints? Everyone has said that Pint pushback sucks from day one and FM just let it go. Even into it's next generation with the X 🤦

It’s a beginner board that’s why. People complain too much about a safety feature that is supposed to let you know you’re playing with fire when ignoring it. Just don’t buy a pint then bit I love it.

Trust yourself and keep your weight over your tire. Allow your board to move around and ride with it, not on it 🤙⚡️

So my only riding experience is with a Pint, and I didn’t even recognize that the XR had different pushback than then Pint. It sounds like FM has a good thing going with the GT, cruising around at 20mph and not fighting stiff pushback sounds like a dream.
