Sir Alex Ferguson is the most decorated manager in the history of English football, but his career in the game isn’t just significant for the silverware he won. Over 30 years since the Scottish manager was hired by Manchester United, the sport and its relationship with worldwide audiences has transformed immeasurably, with as many as 3.2billion viewers watching the Premier League in 2018-19.
Ferguson played a big role in this. By modernising Man United and rejuvenating its image, he turned the club into the preeminent force in the English game and the first international superclub of the Premier League era. During his 27 years in charge, Ferguson’s United swept all in their path, made icons out of Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo, and knocked Liverpool off their perch. When he retired in 2013, not only did he have 13 league titles and two Champions League wins to his name, but had also set the tactical, cultural and commercial trends being used by other clubs to try and replicate his success at Old Trafford.

As an Arsenal man, I can say that SAF was and will always be the greatest club manager. You just can’t argue with the body of work. Many U’s massive resources have helped, yes, because as Chelski and Man City money came in he was still able to do it, my team could for a while but never in Europe and not for that long; Man U kept going and he finished with the league title, Wenger finished with a single away win in a season. Wenger was great for the first 10 years or so, Ferguson just kept going. The older I get the more you can appreciate what he did, it’s quite remarkable.

By changing Man Utd, Sir Alex changed the Premier League and the world of club football. Winning Scottish title with Aberdeen is not a small feet but winning European Cup with Aberdeen by defeating Real Madrid of all is truly a David vs Goliath scale. Simply amazing. Most of the clubs in the world still following what Man Utd did in 1990s in terms of football as an entertainment and a business. And Sir Alex kind of attacking and edge-of the-seat football was really great.

`love it but he didn't do it by himself management was willing to do the changes he was requesting and through good scouting and development of players it gave him the opportunity to create a dynasty had the hardest job though keep the team winning and on top through two decades we may not see a dynasty as long as this one in the premier league again so i will say he is GOAT

No manager had a bigger impact in the Premier league than Sir Alex Ferguson. Winning 13 Premier League titles and installing a winning mentality for Manchester United and making hopeless players like Tom Cleverley and Anderson into world beaters. Not even Mourinho, Klopp and Guardiola can match Ferguson's success and consistency.

I’ve been a United fan for 18 years and Fergie’s dominance is all I’ve known. This is why I’m so angry that we keep making stupid decision after stupid decision when it comes to appointing managers. It’s the same reason I could never begin to compare Ole with Fergie (all comparisons are bad anyway cause Fergie was a freak of nature). But saying that Ole is headed down the same path as Fergie despite relegating Cardiff and winning a league that’s equivalent to league one, is like polishing shit and calling it gold.

Wow. The presenter pronounced Govan - Go-vin. It's pronounced Guh-vin. You have no idea how many Glaswegians that mispronounciation is going to piss off mate.
