Terry, I'd love for you to go watch Ste Howsons views on Braithwaite, he does not rate him, he does not think he has a high ceiling in terms of ability and he argues that Martinez is on 120K per week, how can we justify paying him more. My opinion is smack bang in the middle, I rate him, however, I would argue Gueye of Palace is a better fit.

The problem I think Arsenal face is there isn’t a striker for 100m that is certified to bag goals. Osimhen I don’t think for the price is worth it. Toney and Isak are probably the only two worth it right now. Price is the issue for them. We buy Isak we lose out on other positions and if we buy Toney I wouldn’t want to see more than 50m so that we could buy a top winger as well. My hope out of this window for Arsenal is to buy, Toney, Kudus and Bruno G. Probably talking over 200m for the three.

I don't think we should be "settling" on a striker just for the sake of it, if the player you want isn't available - use the money on the rest of the squad, strengthen out wide or in CAM and assess again in Jan if you really want a new striker. I don't think Jesus will be as bad this coming season again either fingers crossed!

Braithwaite needs to be what he does at a consistent level. Last season was his breakthrough season just like Quansah for Liverpool. I get why some fans want Southgate to take him to the Euros but you need to be careful with the inexperience quota in your team, the players ahead of him have more caps than he does. As for Olise, there is no doubt that the talent is there but there has to be a limit to his proness to injuries here and there. Nevertheless, both players deserve to play at the very top of their careers.

Branthwaite is Harry Maguire 2.0 a decent English defender that will Man United and get ruined. No doubt Man U will overpay for him and put him on huge wages. He will have a decent start like Maguire did but the pressure of the shirt and the mediocrity of the playing squad will make him crash and burn. I smell 70m pounds burning

he's nothing like maguire in profile Branthwaite is young mobile and comfortable in the ball the absolute opposite of a traditional British cb... I.e the opposite of maguire who's was past mid twenties slow and strong but clumsy an old-school cb

The only similarities between Maguire & Branthwaite are that they are English CBs and they are both around 6 ft 4/ 6ft 5. Branthwaite is comfortable with the ball at both feet and is way more mobile and pacy than Maguire. He can play as both RCB & LCB, and would be a great partner for Martinez as well as slotting in when Licha is rested or unavailable. Having said that, I won’t pay more than £55-60 million.
