What a nightmare the first trip out can be, especially if you have a “Trauma” boiler. Our “Trauma “ boiler packed in the day before our trip to Spain with Trev & Sue. Spent 3 weeks with no h/w or heating, luckily warm in Spain 🇪🇸 but not France 🇫🇷. Fish and chips looked tasty. Another good video Mike. Hopefully catch up later in the year.

Hah, sometimes you just have those days when everything goes wrong. 🤷‍♂️ It happens. Btw, If you have your vehicle stored away somewhere, I recommend adding the iNet box to your Truma. It is handy when you can turn your heating on from your mobile and check the gas and battery levels etc. Greetings from 🚐🇫🇮

That brightened up my Saturday morning - laughed out loud when Mike ran over Kirsty's boots 😂. We are off in the van for a weekend in a few week's time since the beginning of December so fingers crossed no dramas. Look forward to watching your 2024 adventures.

Oh dear 😮 I’m amazed you “forgot” how to camp after a few months off, the trick is to go away more 😂. That said we thought our hot water was bust exactly the same until we were told the heating takes priority until the temperature is reached. Good job it was Kirsty’s wellies not her glass slippers you ran over tho 🤣 and the fish looked good but no review on if it was soggy or crisp? You definitely forgot how to KZfaq too! Cheers buddy 👍

The True detective is really good. My first camper van had Truma heating, I absolutely hated it to the extent I called it trauma.

Like you, normally 16 degrees overnight in winter. 🤞🏻never gone wrong yet in 4 year old van.

If them boots was to be ruined they would probably have ended up where the sun don't shine 😂😂, you pushing the van back and forth got me thinking with the price of fuel etc 🤣🤣, your ehu cable, ive actually seen people park on them to stop them being stolen, couldn't see on the vlog but when Kirsty had the lead trying to plug back in if it was still in the post she would have had a live plug in her hand, say if you'd walked into her, nice fish and chips looked worth the cold ride for, got to smile the way Kirsty carried the dog over the loose stone's, very caring owner, anyway another enjoyable vlog keep them coming 👍

Nice one Mike and Kirsty. Flippin E517. I think we have that every time we go out! 😃 We find that the Truma optimum temp depends on the outside temp. We had it on 20 last week. -7 outside. Then 16 when it’s about 10 outside. One tip we were given is to buy a thermal sofa cover two seater and put it over the dash to stop air ingress through the vents. It’s made a massive difference in the van!! Only cost about £22.

Boots cable, keys, cuddley toy! Your fault Mike take it mate. Anything goes wrong in our place it's always my fault 😅 Great vid guys! ❤❤

That was funny, especially the wellies 😂. It always takes us sometime to get into a routine when we first go out in the van. I can’t wait for spring so we can get out and about again. I’m definitely a fair weather camper, the dogs create too much mess when it’s wet and I don’t mind staying home over winter. I’m booking that site this year, it looks perfect for us. I fancy travelling along the south coast this year so we better get our thinking hats on. Thanks as always for sharing another interesting video.

That was funny to watch, especially taking 20 mins to find the keys .I went one better on our 1st site in Spain last year and locked the keys in our caravan and had to have the milenco lock drilled out, funny now but not at the time!!!! Still fish and chips (looked lovely) always help to boost the mood .

We got that all to come, we haven't been away since end of September (work) so hopefully won't be to much longer! Wow that shark on your plate looked amazing. Glad it all worked well in the end and you got home before the high winds Take care both xx

Hi Mike and Kirsty. Good to see you out in the van again. It's always a bit traumatic when re-booting and hoping that everything works correctly. We had frozen pipes last year ( despite giving the system, what I thought, was a thorough drain down ) which because of their position, I couldn't access myself. So we paid our preferred repairers over £1000.00 to strip out the bathroom and repair the the pipes. That was a bitter pill to swallow! Fortunately so far this winter we've had very little frost here, but when we have I've been sure to maintain a gentle heat in the van. It'll be a few more weeks before we take it out. Fingers crossed for a trouble free start to our season. Kirsty's new boots look good. What make are they?

Know exactly what you went through as you said it never rains but pours. The bad luck just follows on. Sorry Kirsty but your boots getting squashed was funny but the fish and chips made up for it. Great that your out and about at last.

Good evening, This is the first time we have watched your channel as we are caravanners 😮 Firstly can we say the fish and chips looked lovely 😊 As for your van issues sorry to say we laughed at the calamities as this has probably happened to everyone or something similar 😅 Heating the van for the first time after winter we found takes forever and on day 2 is fine. Toilet flush a caravan technician told me luke warm water may help in the tank. The heating we have been told will always slow hot water temp down. Our perfect night setting is 15 and left to come on and off during the night in cold weather. Hope this info may help, better luck on your next outing and enjoy. Paul and Joanne 👍 😊

Hi guys all I can think about now is Fish n chips 😜 keys were in the back when you got the cable out I reckon you grabbed the cable and dropped the keys at the same time, I’ve done it loads of times and losing keys for me is a disaster it’s the only thing that makes me panic, lovely site, guys we never tire of going to a site we love especially if it only for a short break, truma and that panel used to drive me mad, the Dethless is soooo simple 😊 needs to be as I’m soooo dense 😂 neither of us can stand heat on in the night and we have to have open windows as well even in - temps, did you get hot water ? Ours is only on gas (normal over here)you made me laugh out loud on occasions during the hook up debacle as have done all those things myself 🤣🤣🤣 especially the wet trousers with all or nothing push taps 🤬🤬🤬🤬 walking back to the van looking like you have had a full drain down in your pants is not a good look. That’s a really bad fault on the truma, if you forget to shut it down for whatever reason and then disconnect the hook up or start the engine up you end up with a fault code and have either wait 15 mins or failing that reboot the boiler. We also had the same problem with the hot water, after draining down in icy conditions we found we had to pump water through before we heated the water, seem to do the trick !

I put Elsan antifreeze in my toilet flush water not frozen yet

Can I ask what the collapsable bucket is for outside the door
