There's the issue of memory usage... There's already a lot of content added already and its not just about new zombie models. Technical elements and programming and coding takes up memory space. They can only add so much in the game without putting strain on game systems.

I guess it's the limitation of engine that's why there are no new zombie

@kyonshi77 Not askin' for a Zillion New Zombies added ... But around a Dozen is Definitely VERY achievable. It'll keep the game Way More interesting and alot less predictable. I don't know about you, but it kinda takes the Thrill of the "UNEXPECTED" when I keep seeing the Same Ol' Same Ol' Zombies around EVERY CORNER.

The real problem is that most zombies are exactly the same threat, its boring. They need to add more different behaviors, more non-close combat attacks, wandering zombies in POIs instead of boring trigger points

Console version and former Alpha 16 used to have own food models but they were removed in A17 for some reason, luckily nowadays there is mod that restores them. But yea I hope proper item models return to the game

Suprisingly there is a mod for this exact thing or at least what i assume you are referring to - Nexus mods has a bloke that made a Food Models Mod and its exactly what you think it is. Crazy how one guy made food models and 7DTD devs can't even make what we requested for a long time.

A prestige mode might be nice. Once you max level you should be able to reset back to level 1 and all your buildings and inventory is reset and you stay on whatever day you were in when you prestige. The benefit to prestiging would be access to exclusive weapons, tools or missions. Idk just spitballing

​@@BurritoBandito140 They could make a gamemode where character death is permanent, but then you load a fresh character into the world and can retrieve the old backpack if you know where it dropped. You can basically do this already but they could add certain character upgrades that carry over through death to make it more roguelike and interesting. Either way, it still doesn't solve the problem with a lack of endgame. They really need the bandits and NPC factions that they've been promising for a decade.

The game's engine can't handle it. There are a lot of zombies. The AI ​​Path Fiding system can't calculate the zombies' path in time. It still uses the core. It's not effective. But I pray that it can be used with more than 4 cores. Why does Unity only use 4 cores? 🙄

@@Sporfo Oh damn, didn't even know that. I joined in at Alpha 18 and regardless there is a mod out there on nexus mods thats simply called Food Models and it works for A21 or newer.

The point is to give out crucial information about the upcoming update and new content added? This could at least shut down morons who give them shit for this and that, without getting the proper info that's usually out there already.

@@XSX2028 it does look like they are rushing out an unfinished, 10 year old game, because everyone who was going to buy this for PC already has. They built a great PC game for PC players...off of console money. The same consoles they said have never been good enough...and console players that they continue to lie to. It's the shadows that need to be optimized the most, I have shadows set to medium, and I have a 2070, i7-9700K, play at 1080p and I get around 40 to 50 fps inside buildings with a ton of mods and outside It doesn't drop much below 60fps, mostly drops when loading new chunks.

It's because they still stick to unity engine crap when UE is so open for absolute performance and graphics.

@@alcatraz14 Unity is better for performance than Unreal Engine with any proper developer with knowledge around maximizing performance and optimizations. The issue is the game has been maintained from its original 'spaghetti' code version from ages ago. Updating to new unity versions doesn't magically make your game run 10x better. The newer update is using Unity 2022 and will see various improvements across performance including shadows. Although, I really don't think it's gonna be that impactful until the developers put in a lot of work on a purely optimization patch and rework their lighting, graphic and shadow systems which are dreadfully outdated and slow.

@@jjnix9517 A wandering horde comes like every other day, it takes 2 minutes to clear.. that's not what I'm asking for, and normal roaming zombies are few and far between, barely 2-3 zombies as far as the eye can see doesn't cut it. I'm talking about the whole world full of zombies, it's a zombie apocalypse after all, like it used to be, around Alpha 10-16, zombies everywhere all the time, many of them! totally different feeling game.

Why would they take the stream seriously when they take nothing else serious pertaining to the game and production? Constantly ripping out perfectly working systems just to shoehorn in something they will just rip out the next update just to waste time and resources on looks over substance.

They do not play the game until it is more playable. Their internal testers do that. Some could say anything they say is not important until release like Activision does it. But to me it is important.

The larger problem is how our game characters are changing from 5 armor slots and 3 clothing clots to having only 4 armor slots. Less options for players has never been a good thing within a game.

I'm not a fan of putting points into Pack Mule because we already have to spread our points out a lot when playing SP, so losing the clothing slots decreases available pocket mod space. A side benefit to street clothing in-game is using it to do camera facing clips when making videos, just a little added nongame aspect I enjoyed using. Nothing better than relaxing in a Tee and jeans after a long day of zombie clearing...

That's why they wrote at the bottom of the road map "These dates are rough estimates and subject to change"...they don't know how to meet deadlines. Might as well have not put out a meaningless road map. I don't think there is a hope in hell this game will launch on time. The whole thing feels rushed...like they are desperate. Who has released a game this haphazardly...ever? Very unusual to not have everything ready to go before informing the public. If for no other reason to not discredit themselves or hurt sales. weird is right.

Most developers, including The Fun Pimps reach a mental state where they behave as self-centered Gods. They force their ideas and changes into a game without caring about the negative results. They ignore major ongoing problems for many years. They ignore what is popular and what is needed in the game. It's unfortunate yet happens with many games.

You might think that strange, but when their creative juices are spent and dried up, they have nothing left but to force people to work within what they've already created. Their mindset is of limitations and restrictions, and I will not at all be surprised to see them try to prevent modding down the road because it can bring back what they tried to remove (like nerd-polling, for example).

@@XSX2028 yes if you don’t tune it to your hardware. I use nvidia app to come up with settings , we are currently using rtx vibrance mode as a complete visual output detector input for improvements in realtime

And you need to set high priority in task manager and it removes the chugs and skips / finished 32 zombie blood moon / smooth even with rockets pathfinding was fun

Yes I did on all api , dx11 glcore Vulcan / vulcan is the next to dx11 glcore still missing a lot … good for older hardware … ray tracing done even with lightning

I almost feel like their idea for different armors should be mods instead. So we can still choose our own armor class and then choose the types of upgrades and benefits we want for it

I hated it at first. Like genuinely ruined my excitement for the game. Then I thought about how much I used other armor sets once I got the best and realized this new system is a better use of resources and I love the idea of being like “okay gang time to loot let’s get our looting gear on” 🤣

Not downvoting what you said but just wanted to add a few things. People all the time talk about how the mod community is holding up this game. However multiple streamers and KZfaqrs have taken surveys and found that the majority of 7dtd players have never played a mod. I think it was around 70% of players have only played vanilla. So the vanilla game is very much not dead. Also streamer weekend is also for testing the game and there is still a whole experimental faze afterwards. They don’t want to give us a broken or very bugged game to a ton of people even if it’s experimental. Their starting with a small, select amount of people before going big:)

When you look that the challenges the streamers have to come up with in order to keep this game relevant and the fact that some of them even use mods to keep the game interesting. Jawoodle used the increased wandering hordes mod and various others have used quality of life mods just to stop the game being repetitive including ravenhurst, darkness falls, Warzuk. I honestly just feel the TFP could have done better. If you watch the streamers like GNS he has done several play throughs of various different mods such as darkness falls. I’m totally not taking pot shots at your point of view as it’s as valid as mine, I just feel they could have done way more without ripping of other game mods before (horde defence) announcing they are developing a new game without finishing this one. Again I’m not taking shots and maybe I’m just expecting too much from them but the game feels stagnant without mods.
