Join Chris Do and brother from another mother, Vinh Giang in this unscripted, communication masterclass, mixed in with great stories. They discuss the importance of good communication skills in life and business. Vinh describes how he combines techniques from different areas such as magic, keynote speaking, and content creation to teach people how to become more engaging and influential communicators. He also shares a personal story about a failed pitch for his online magic school and how it led him to realize the importance of effective communication skills.

Funny how Chris says he didn't like the sound of his voice. In addition to the insightful conversations, I look for these hour-long videos because of the zen tone of his voice. It's just the right kind of energy for these podcasts.

I think that we don't always like the sound of our voice but our tribe gets to love them. That doesn't mean we can't improve our voice, only we should not try to copy and be like others. I used to think I should sound like Les Brown to be a serious public speaker, which is sadly not so. We are unique in our own way.

Hearing Vinh sharing his story about doing anything to learn to communicate with his son made me think about my own story. My son is autistic and was non verbal until the age of 4, is now 21 and can speak fluently 2 languages and learnt Spanish and German at school. I share this for any parents struggling with a child with learning difficulties, hire professional to speed up his learning abilities. There are things we can’t do by ourselves! Hire a therapist, a coach, a mentor and anyone that can help you! I became a coach to support people find their happiness and even calling!

I LOVE this talk ! I think this is one of the best conversations I've heard in a long time !! The reason why he switched accent is when someone switches "depth" (saying something close to their hearts) they'll subconsciously change the way they talk to lay more importance into what they say.

I loved the personal stories in this episode, rather than an interview completely about strategy! I didn’t realize that the teaching component of my life is what makes my now career of being an Argentine Tango teacher so fulfilling. I completed premed but completely changed paths, and there is nothing more fulfilling to me than watching my students go from no dance experience to enjoying themselves on the dance floor! I feel like I am finally doing what I was meant to do 😌

This was a brilliant talk, I have often struggled with verbal communication due to being autistic, I was 90% selectively non-verbal up until the age of 10. Vinh really is an excellent verbal communicator and has taught me so many invaluable tools and techniques to help improve my verbal communication. It has been a frustrating journey, especially when people don't take you serious due to the verbal barriers. But I have an excellent set of skills within my domain of expertise, and trying to translate into a verbal reality has been one of the biggest challenges. I am very grateful for all the resources Vinh has published online with regards to communication, they have been really helpful in helping me conquer my verbal communication skills. Thanks to Chris, Vinh, and the team, you folks are incredible 😍

You two have literally changed my life and my business. I run a dog training business, nothing to do with design, but your info translates over. Thank You for your content. Without both of you I would have failed by now 100 times over. Most channels gloss over the real important things, or they are too vague to learn from, but you taught me what books to read, how to change my mindset, how to speak to potential clients..AND MOST IMPORTANT to not chase the clients that can't afford me. I used to go into sales with the mindset that I HAD to close every client and when I didn't I'd beat myself up over it. Now I realize there are people who you don't want to work with, and that's ok. There's people who don't wanna work with you, and that's ok. Without my business I wouldn't be able to work, as I have a back injury that caused me to be unemployable from my previous career. You helped me, help me not be homeless. I can't thank you enough.

3 Tips on how to be a more Effective Communicator. 1:07:00 1. Record a 5 min video of you speaking, wait a day to review. A) Listen only - qualities of your voice, what you like, what you don't like. B) Just watch, turn the sound off, what do you like and dislike about how you move, how expressive you are, how your hands and body move. C) Transcribe it, leave in all the none words and filler words, then highlight them. 2. Send 20 min video and transcription to ESL teacher - How can I improve my Grammer 3. Mindset - Change your behaviors, let go to your future self, grow and evolve. 4. Send 20 min video to Speak Pathologist

Honestly, this interview is just amazing for me. I'm an Art Director and Graphic Designer, and married to a savage Asian woman. She keeps me grounded when I need it. But I can relate to so much being discussed here. We'll done!

Noticed that sometimes our biggest challenges our kids bring us it’s one of our biggest gifts to self & others, a blessing when we choose to perceive it differently. The problem is the Solution. Let’s be grateful more. ‘Early intervention’ powerful.

I think it’s so interesting that admitting we have people who love and emotionally/financially support us is seen as a vulnerable or even embarrassing thing. I’m in a similar position and I’ve had to learn to simply say “thank you” a lot more than I had before. Take it where you can get it and become the kind of person who would do the same 👍
