Great setup. Especially the storage and server rack. But when you renew all the network wiring, why not into the server rack where the switch is located? Now you make a mess with extra patch cables fron the panel to the switch. Also, I would have put the ladder the other way around and put the cable very exact in place to make it look perfect. However, looked like some work for all the cameras and the WiFi. Thumps up.

I would have suggested fixing the extension ladder to the wall in both ends. What heppens when you want to move or replace the rack?
@ericdavis4964
@ericdavis4964 3 жыл бұрын
I doubt they will need to replace that 42U or 48U cabinet. And since it is not a high density DC install, then doubt they will ever consume that much U space. Based on what is shown and considering the patch panel is not mounted in the cabinet, they could easily get away with a half height cabinet. The ladder rack extension appears to be well secured to the main ladder rack and should easily support the amount of copper secured to it. Sides, if they were to replace the cabinet, all the ran cables would most likely get back pulled.

I have a client that has Spectrum Business internet & phone. They have a block of static IPs and aren't required to use Spectrum's modem. Through troubleshooting phone calls and technician visits, Spectrum has never complained. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant by "equipment"... that is a possibility.
@EvilAlchemist720
@EvilAlchemist720 3 жыл бұрын
I want to concur with the above statement that spectrum can put their modem in pass-through mode and you can get rid of their wireless router device. I did this about a month ago at my city's community center. It takes about a 10 minute call for them to reprovision the modem and you're good to go. Sometimes they require that you get a specific modem from them. I believe the one that supports pass through is the Arris brand. Sometimes when the technician doesn't have that on their truck they will give you a two box solution which is what you have now. Oh in just a tip sometimes, their phone techs well accidentally reprovision the wireless router instead of your modem so be sure to specify what you want exactly when you call.
@TheGeekPub
@TheGeekPub 3 жыл бұрын
They told the the two box is required because they use RIP to provision the static IP and RIP runs on their router.
