We began our journey regarding Ophir with the thinking that it may be the Philippines but if not, we wanted to know where it was and it did not matter to us where that was. We just wanted the truth. In the background, we kept asking the big question though. If Solomon already had the gold and resources he needed to build the Temple which David set aside, why did he take on the expense of building a brand new port and navy to take a 3 year risky journey to replace good resources he already had? Along the way, Filipinos also told us their land was the location of the Garden of Eden which we initially dismissed and even commented we were unable to prove that at that time until we mapped out the directions left by Noah recorded in the Book of Jubilees and found there is no room for any other land. Then, we were told by Filipinos that some of them belonged to the Lost Tribes of Israel which we also dismissed initially until we kept bumping into one reference after another. So, we decided to throw many months into the topic and we find that this information passed down by their ancestors has truth to it. Perhaps this is the reason the Philippines and Israel have special relations. Their special bond goes back to ancient times. If you read Columbus' writings, he actually offers the mindset of many explorers as well as the King of Spain as he is the one that sold the idea of the voyage in the first place. Remember, Columbus never knew he discovered America. He thought he discovered SouthEast Asia or the Indies. He called one Carribean Island Ophir, another Tarshish and an area in South America the Garden of Eden. He then identifies some of those "Indians" (because again, he thought he was in the Indies not America) as Lost Tribes of Israel. Time would prove there was no where near the abundance of gold there as Ophir but Columbus believed he found Ophir until his last breath. It's funny because many read his writings and claim America is Ophir/Tarshish/Garden of Eden yet they seem to ignore that he was headed to SE Asia, thought he landed in SE Asia and continued to claim such until his death. Therefore everything in his mindset must be understood through his perspective not our modern Western perspective. He not only discovered nothing because there were already people there but he mislabeled them to suit his mission which was Gold, God Glory yes but drill it down and specifically he was seeking to find Ophir/Tarshish and the Garden of Eden which he says was all in one place in SE Asia. El Dorado is actually a newer story which does not really tie to the Garden of Eden nor Ophir. It really originates in the days of Columbus and other explorers. The God Culture Thank you for the clarification and information. There is much to learn. To be honest I don't know where the idea that it is a cover up came from. As I was watching, it just hit me that something was hidden in history regarding the move towards the west and it may indeed be the failure of Columbus to get to the real Garden of Eden. It was just a sense of why say it is there when it is clear they had an idea where it is. As to your point about governments, thank you. I would be really interested in understanding more. All my life I have no trust of institutions including the Church or Churches. There is too much focus on traditions that people forget the core teachings of Yahweh and Jesus one of which is to love one another and in doing so we honor God. We focus on the "right" way of dress, of eating, and the sense that such things are made by man to serve their own purpose is something that is at the back of my mind. Such institutions are flawed but God is perfect. God's words are laid out before us plain and simple but there are men who deliberately twist it to their own end. I've always thought that at the end of it all, many faiths say the same thing at its core. It's just all over the world we have different ways of saying things and understanding things. Maybe where the story of the Tower of Babel fits in? This is where the confusion comes from. The world tends to focus more on wanting to be right that we miss the truth. I do not know where to go but I hope that God's will lead me to the truth. And maybe He has started to have done so through this channel. To me what has always been important is my relationship to God. I acknowledge and trust in Yahweh and Jesus. There is much to learn. I would very much like to understand. Also, can I ask why The God Culture? It might be an answer to what I seek. There is no agreed upon definition of what culture is by "scholars". But one thing I understand about the word culture is that it is a way of life as well as a vehicle of communication. However, I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say why the God Culture. The world to me is focusing on having the right religion which as I've said just doesn't sit right with me. But if one of the things you mean by the God Culture is truly understanding what the scriptures say, what God is saying and what it means for our life on earth and beyond, I think my heart is light as that's something that calls to me. The thing is at the moment, I am using the way of one religion to commune with God as has been taught to me but I'm wondering if there is something out there that "fits" if it makes any sense. Still, I know my focus is on Yahweh. He will lead me to the answers I seek. Please feel free to correct me or point things out to me. I would like to humble myself and understand. No one knows who wrote this. It may have been Solomon's first wife or one of his wives rather than the Queen of Sheba.
