So they invited a drum god to play for an audience, then tell him he's too loud. Amazing.

My mom used to say that. 45 years ago. This is the NAMM show for gods sake! Not a casket road show. LOL!

Why even bother having drum demos at Namm if they think its to loud ? Drums are loud period and it doesnt get less loud with Vinny behind the kit. Great drummer, my absolute favourite !

Because drums use dynamic and - as fucking good as Vinnie is - you can't judge a drum kit on BANGBANGBANG alone.

It is incredibly annoying and hateful to see how so rudely mistreated an icon in music as Vinny Appice is. These guys have no idea who is sitting there, one of the greatest drummers !! Anyway, it doesn't matter that a couple of ignorant people think it's too loud, that power behind the drums goes straight through the heart ...
@dannywhite38052 жыл бұрын
haha, they don't care WHO it is, they are there to keep down the noise... they are called by the manufacturers as the Volume Police!!! I am sorry but there are bigger named Musicians there that they also tell to turn down!!!

How about “Steve” there at the end. So easy to imagine him behind the curtain saying “I don’t give a damn who this guy is, I’LL tell him to stop!” The Suits and the Steves carrying out their orders are everywhere in this world. But Vinnie? He’s a pro. At ease and laying down the grooves and licks like a legend. He’s wonderful.

I see Victor Salazar in the back. He hooked me up one time to hang w Vinny @ his drum shop in Chicago back. I ended up leaving with Vinny autographing all of my Sabbath and Dio collection. Then he taught my son how to do the 🤘. Having photos of that just blows my mind. What a really really nice guy.

Such an honor to see such a great drummer I'm sure many of us admire and a disappointment to whatever Drum company this is ? A horrible way to promote your drums to be so rude to such an iconic drummer.
@krusher74 Жыл бұрын
its disrepectfull to try to promote you generic poplar drums at a trade show where you know there are volume limits. If every booth at the show just decided fuck it were doing an drum demo they we know were not allowed to they whole thing would end in chaos.

Just like William said 4 comments down, my fav of all time as well. Live Evil- one of my favorite albums of All time- opening up with Neon Nights-great choice for an opener. A good example of Vinny kicking ass on the drums- punch up Stand up and shout live back in the day on KZfaq. The guy in the suit shutting him down was probably into bands like ABC, Culture Club, Wham and Banana Rama. What a goof.

all these people complaining about them keeping the noise down, everyone needs to remember this is a business trade show and it is ALL ABOUT manufacturers showing store buyers their new products coming out that year, it is not a fan show... there are hundreds of booths there, imagine if every booth had drums and guitars blasting away, you would get hearing damage for one thing and nobody could hear to do any business!!!

NAMM 🖕!! A bunch of up-tight, overly managed, under intelligent group of Simpletons running amook, Standing IN Vinnie's Space, peaking around the curtain, milling about, oblivious to how amateurish a production they're portraying & the crowd starts throwing barbs & protests at 'em. A LEGEND sitting there. The Disrespect Shown to Vinnie, who's giving gems on his style, the type of wood used etc and another nimrod says hold it down. It's to Vinnie's credit he didn't just grind down on those drums. The crowd woulda went wild. Those of you who know your drummers, can you Imagine, same scenario, Buddy Rich being crowded & Told To Keep It Down? 🤣🙈👊🗣📣💪🤸♂️🤼♂️ OR Ginger Baker? I'm a sick puppy. Don't judge lol
@krusher74 Жыл бұрын
lol, "the type of wood used", Its poplar most companies use it for their budget ranges. Your pedestalled drummer has had his ego stroked by this sham of a company. Namm is a trade show with people trying to make deal and sell drums, its not a musical performance show and they al know there are volume limits before paying to attend.
@tomtom1484 Жыл бұрын

Interesting so it’s a trade show. So how do those Sawtooth drums sound? Oh sorry they are only a display model you have to buy them and play them at your own facility. Someone saying it’s loud is only relevant, break out the NIOSH sound dosimeters and give us the accurate numbers. Oh wait it’s just a trade show for manufacturers. Then Why invite Vinny to play drums if they are too loud? Invite a power drummer to play softly? Poor guy has at least three bosses telling him to turn down. I hear the guitar better than the drums, not to mention his speaking voice seems just as apparent as the drums. Yeah they may have made it more acoustically sound to not reverberate as much, but hey why do that when it’s a show showcasing musical instruments? Meh.
@krusher74 Жыл бұрын
They could have recorded this at there business and put it on youtube for thousands of viewers. but they decided to try to do it at a trade show where they know its not allowed.

You guys just don’t listen to drums very much. Dude is trash namm is filled with drummers all playing at the same time they have to keep volume reasonable and it has nothing to do with him but he’s playing on a no name kit in an off section he’s not at the likes of the DW booth.
