Jaki has been living without disability benefits for almost a year. When she applied for employment and support allowance, she had to attend a work capability assessment. After an hour's journey, she found she was not able to access the testing centre. Her experience is not unique

This is what happens when you invest in wars, and implement conservative govt. many voters don’t know truly disabled ppl except maybe their elderly parents. Exposure creates re-assessment of these allocations.

I too worked 60 hours a week as a registered nurse! I always had weird stiff necks as a teen, in my 20’s I got widespread pain, 30’s an on up until ages 42 when I collapsed at work and was finally diagnosed with FMS or fibromyalgia and arthritis. I couldn’t remember things and the pain at times was unbearable. Don’t judge a book by a cover! Please! This poor woman is obviously very sick as well!

Mental health issue and depression with the disease make the patient unable to handle things herself. They need a better system, which they actively try to get people to the right places.

This is a cruel & spitefully inefficient system. I thought this was designed to give desperate, vulnerable, & disabled people a life line so they can find solace? As far as I can see, the system designed to help them, is the very thing crippling them so unequivocally that it drives them to suicide. And the fact that Universal Credit is going to be *Online Only* further takes away the personal support these people need. No wonder the homeless population has just exploded.

Oh look! It's the Daily Mail! Still using the old "Sitting on their arses watching Jeremy Kyle" cliché? Damn I thought people heard the last of that old chestnut 10 years ago!! £12BILLION is wasted on Tax Avoidance from Real Wealthy elite; mostly politicians, who are selling more (apparently illegal) Medicinal Cannabis than any other country in the world. Yet no one has a valid prescription in the UK. They are selling off our assets, our NHS, Royal Mail, 7th Bridge, Dartford tunnel, Forests, Property, they have cut funds to practically every public service & yet keep wages down, prices up, & spend 4 months on lavishing holidays with £3,000 bottles of wine, whilst away from their 3 private abodes for doing exactly what? But you show yourself up by picking on disabled self-loathing people for sitting in doors, living in pain every day, watching a tv & using a cell phone? Yup! Definitely the Daily Fail LOL!

@RoadKillzine I live in Australia. How are they just being "swept along" when it looks like the government has an assessment office for disability support claimants that is, of all the ridiculous things in the world, wheelchair inaccessible to disabled people? They'd never ever, ever get away with this here. All welfare offices must be wheelchair accessible by law, and as a result all of them are wheelchair accessible. It sounds like blatant discrimination to me. It sounds like your government is actively blocking disabled people from getting the benefits they need to survive, not just sweeping them along. I don't know about the UK, but if this happened in Australia there'd be a public uproar. All the media would be all over it shaming the government and that woman would have her disability pension appoved before you could blink.

so its sad isn't it , we had in the Labour manifesto a massive work proposal to provide accessibility throughout the uk , that step would have been made into a ramp this would have meant workers hired to do it and so muvch more as making the uk accessible is a massive contract , regretting things already , what a missed opportunity

This rips me apart that fellow human beings treat others like this?

They are supposed to have disabled access to all their buildings, for their employees, let alone the claimants. For goodness sake, it just shows what idiotic numbskulls these people really are that they can not organise a simple ramp; just a wedge of wood to the height of the step with a couple of coats of decking paint, it is not rocket science.

You know another crazy fact is that when the Nazis were bombing the British they bombed all the poor neighborhoods. All the rich people and there estates and castles barely got a scratch. And people from the royal family were married to high ranking Nazis. And the queen funded the Nazis the rich from around the works did but they don't talk about that when they talk about history. In every war it is always the poor who suffer and die. When everyone was on rations the rich had lavish party's and feast while people were starving in the streets. War is a form of population control just like neglecting to take care Of ur citizens is a form of population control. People need to wake up
