Me too as I am just starting my journey on Propecia (Finasteride) today and will follow these professionals advice and take 1mg three times a week. Tues, Thurs, Sat. Too many fear mongering on the net. My GP was so ill informed and only concentrated on the negatives. I know she was only a GP not really her field. But after telling her I have been looking into this for some time she insisted on making sure I do know of these side effects. Glad I got the prescription though.

Thanks in advance.

Well, since nobody responded, I'll give my experience: I'm no medic neither I found a study about it, but I took them simultaneously for a year, nothing happened. I did have some stomachaches, but don't know if it was related. I used to take them both at 8pm, so I started taking finasteride earlier with lunch. Also I questioned my doctor who prescribed me prep and he said it was no big deal. But you gotta do the prep exams to keep watching how's your body doing.

@arnold8047
@arnold8047 4 жыл бұрын
Ahmed Amin Pregnant woman/woman in general shouldn’t even touch this drug because it may diffuse through the skin and into arteries in the hypodermis. But it wouldn’t work that way for men who are trying to regrow hair. Because in women, only a little dose of the drug is enough to wreak havoc on their reproductory system/ cause physical side effects on the developing fetus. But in men you trying to take it through your skin, you’d only get maybe 1/50th of the dosage of the drug so .02 mg of it into your blood stream having very little effect on regrowing hair.

@@Jay-eo3wl hmm my hairloss was pretty gradual, and I was not exactly too consistent with the use at times. That's why I said "i think". The hairloss really did get worse after stopping for good though. I obviously can't be sure, but maybe one could build a resistence to the substance especially with higher doses, and the effectiveness won't drop as quickly with the every 48 hr dose? Another thing one can't overlook is how the majority of the people taking these pills are in their 30~40's. We get less testosterone, we get depressed, we see bunch of assholes getting ahead in life around us, AND we are taking these pills, reminding us every time that there is something wrong with our body. Not exactly a great environment for libido. Oh and we're probably with a long term partner as well, which is, you know how things get... I mean, sure. Maybe the pills lower libido, strictly from the chemical effects of the substance in them. But I don't think it's so bad as to completely wipe away an average amount of sex drive a man would have, if he was content with his life. Oh, not assuming anything about your life here, of course. Just in general.
@burger1113
@burger1113 3 жыл бұрын
@@Jay-eo3wl Yeah I do think transplants are worthless as it doesn't address the root of the problem at all, and you are carving up your skin to "pour water in a cup with a hole in it." To be honest, I've half given up on my hairloss until they really come up with some crazy stemcell shit that will really change the game. I'm not into spending money and time to postpone the inevitable, while dumping a bunch of chemicals that I'll never know how they are made. They often put some real sketchy stuff in when they isolate chems and what not...

This was a brilliant, very informative podcast. Thanks a lot for sharing such a useful information. I stopped Propecia in 2017, after using it for 3 years. And since 1 year. I am seeing more hair loss. I am 32, turning to 33 if a few months. I was seeking for some serious, honest and scientific information. I feel lucky to have this video on internet. Thanks again.

If I take Finasteride as a 5mg pill divided in 4 (Essentially the guide from the doctor that prescribed it), could I just as well just take it every other day then? I mean, the packet I have is 98 tablets that I've been told to divide into 4. (Finasterid Actavis 5mg) Now 98 * 4 = 392 days, but if I could just as well do every other day that's suddenly a bit over 2 years instead..

Great video guys, just curious as I've been reading a number of publications on Finasteride, it appears from higher quality studies that, as you say, side effects are indeed very low in 1mg groups rising in prevelance when people use 5mg dosage and there is very limited evidence at lower doses for significant side effects and likely a large nocebic effect for those who do develop them but there doesn't seem to be any published data on LOWER doses than 1mg per day as you suggest may be equally as beneficial - has anyone ever published on this?

After using all of them for over a period of continuous 1 and 1/2 years, I would say do not go for any finas or Dutas. They have bad side effects example low libido, it does decreases stamina and personality disorders. You will feel like you are trapped in cage of medicines and in hope of getting new hair. So I have ditched all now and conclusion is that dont go for any harmful medicine , No medicine can regrow your hair if it is male pattern baldness, All medicine companies are marketing you a hope a hope of 1 year of continuous usage of these toxic medicines and in the end your dermatologist will suggest you for hair transplant or he/she will say that you must have gaped the medicines & minoxidil. There are many bloggers and you tube videos but everyone is just selling them, the biggest truth is that once your hair is gone, it is gone. So have confidence within yourself have a good diet and nutritious food fish etc., almonds and fruits, massage your hair with a good organic oil weekly and do nothing dont go for these trap of medicines which can harm your body adversely.

@@i.t.s.8173 Dutasteride is known to be more effective because it decreases dht levels by 90+%, fin decreases by 60-70%. Dut increases estrogen by 20-25%, fin inreasrs by 10-15%. Therefore dut has more risks of sides. Ive been taking fin 1.25mg daily for month and a half plus zinc 22mg daily. No side effects. None. Very effective in hair loss in my case.
