This is the 2nd Raven interview I've watched recently, and he seems like such a great positivr person. He's so (sometimes comically) honest about his life and career. And he never speaks negatively about anyone. Even people who he knew or thought didn't like him, he would have something positive to say about them. He's a great story teller and awesome memory recall. A true veteran of the sport with such an iconic character.

Met Raven in 2003 when I worked indies. A lot of people bought into the reputation that he was a dick. He was never rude, mean, difficult, and he never insulted anyone. He simply knew how to handle himself on the indy scene- get your money upfront, don't do something that's gonna get you injured, and know you're the one drawing money- not some local guy who nobody ever heard of. Me, and another worker picked him up at the airport in a rental. We got 10 miles down the road and he said we needed to get a different vehicle- his back was in a lot of pain. We turned around, traded for a minivan, which was better for everyone. From then on, any time I got a rental, I got a minivan. But, the other guy I was with thought Raven was being a prick for wanting something with adequate room. So yeah, his bad reputation is undeserved I think.

Too bad his United States title run was so short, literally a day. He brought the best out of Goldberg. He wasn’t necessarily wasted in WCW, but I always thought of what if you drop the Raven character mid 96 through 1997 WWF. Def IC champ material, and at the time the product was becoming more edgier. Imagine the matches vs Austin, HBK, Hart etc. who are around his size, and Undertaker and Mankind. Just crazy possibilities

If either WWE or AEW were to hire Raven as a booker, you’d see a drastic improvement in the overall product. If you don’t believe me, there’s a two hour video here on KZfaq where Raven talks about psychology in the wrestling business, and it’s brilliant. Everything Raven says makes so much sense, he gets how the business works.

Hannibal if you could get someone to talk about the Portland territory in depth that would be a fascinating interview. There's only a few people left who know. Raven, Billy Jack, Grappler and David Schultz come to mind. When they're gone, the history goes with them. The place was absolutely on fire in the 70s and early/mid 80s. How did they build that heat? How were the matches booked? Matches called? Etc

Completely agree, always enjoyed both of them in '96 - '98. I remember when Jericho did a promo on Raven. "What about you? What about Raisin?"

Man Wrestling was great these days!!!, me and my uncle would flip back n forth between Nitro and Raw EVERY MONDAY!!,, these wer the guys I rooted for ! Lol most people root for The Rock, Stone Cold etc.. I always liked the lesser known underdogs like Raven, Hardcore Holly, Saturn, even The Brood lolol Buff Bagwell was my man back then too! The Attitude days really need to be cherished!

Raven (Scott) was and prob still is an excellent wrestler. I first saw him in WCW in late '97 I think. Loved his character, the gimmicks, the hilarious lines, the Flock and their nonsense. It was great stuff.
