Mughals gave India such beautiful things and made culturally rich. Hindus could have at best built cow dung huts only. Mughals made India by getting all small kingdoms under one centre.

Being American doesn't mean a person's lens is American, just like being Indian doesn't mean ones lens is Indian. 1) Micheal Danino was born French, he has done wonderful work on the continuity of Indian culture from the indus sarswathi civilization to present. So refute her on facts, make counter arguments in research, just saying she won't understand something because she is American is disingenuous, and not an argument that would sit well in the Indian ethos, which has always strived for truth.

@@zain9109 Also Mughals never reached the South of India, There where Indian empires that were centralized and larger than the mughals before them, there where huge empires that could outshine the mughals and had international reach like the Cholas. PS Mughals missed a golden period to bring education to the masses, The printing press, global navigation, global trade all were available during the mughal period, which they did not capitalise on, that lapse leaves us in our current state. So their glorification is unfounded. They where an empire not dissimilair to many before them, running on their concerns. The long lasting value they left behind to the Indian citizen, apart from the tombs strewn across the landscape is debatable.

So when you study Aurangzeb you have to focus on what records say of him, what was his circumstances etc. Whether Hindu Nationalist hate him or not has nothing to do with historicity.
