This is great info for miners of all levels! One thing I found I needed to keep a stock of is CPU coolers. Most mining boards are LGA1151 and those CPUs don’t always come with coolers. Keep up the good work 🤙

A few things; full assortment of black zip ties (white ones look gross on black frames), extra 10' C14 to C13 cables in case you have to move your rig around for optimal air flow, Klein Tools Type-A USB Digital Multimeter for testing USB cables (yes, sometimes new ones are junk), and the most expensive one (only recommended if you have a fairly good sized farm) FLIR TG165-X Thermal Camera imaging tool ($400 on Amazon) to check everything from GPUs to your electrical infrastructure.

I'm going to have to disagree on the risers. I've been rocking the Amazon Febsmart risers on my 13 card Nvida rig for 1 year and 3 months ($50) NO ISSUES what so ever. Gpu risers are great but not really needed. Besides your really just paying for the name "GPU RISERS" same risers cam be found on Amazon $20 to $35 cheaper.

@@Killer65malibuGaming it can work, just bad advice for new miners to use sata. Run a 6600 or 3060 on sata, yeah that’ll probably work. Run a 3090 or 6800 on sata, definitely not… my 2060 super was making the sata connection hot to the touch and ended up learning it was pulling 60w through the sata, can’t imagine what would happen if it was pulling the full allowable 75w through the riser…

Here is the summary and my comments. 1. electric voltage meter (not necessary. I use amp meter clamp to measure the current on the breaker in the electric panel) 2. computer tool kit. (maybe useful but not often use it) 3. GPU test bench. 4. spare gpu riser. 5. Spare mining rig cable. 6. SSD adapter. (I use high quality usb instead of SSD to save lot of money) 7. portable fan (very important) . 8. computer duster. (good to have one) 9. cable management (useful) 10. portable monitor (useful)

A small flashlight with a magnetic end, or a headlamp flashlight. When building rigs and the room lighting isn’t great, the extra brightness from a flashlight helps a ton i.e. seeing the details and screws to go on a motherboard. Also agree with others that spare power supplies of various wattage is critical when you suddenly land 2+ new gpus and need corresponding PSU capacity.

Great content. A must watch for those thinking about getting into mining or those who maybe started a year or two ago. I seriously LOVE the IFIXIT tools and it is well worth the price. Also, I like to keep spare fans for my GPU frames and I only use high velocity. I would suggest GPU Risers fans 1500 RPM - 38 CFM being virtually silent and sexy in white. They are true workhorses. Finally, you should always keep paste and pads for your GPU maintenance.

Ample supply of PCIE 6-8 pin power splitters, extra SATA data cables, I'd add to the list, keep a few extra 120MM fans on hand too in case one dies.

Hum p=EI , your voltage is fixed , 120v , what will vary is your current depending on the load on the circuit , the higher the power the higher the current , btw a voltmeter will give you volts , not watts .

Great video. I bet it was awesome to collaborate with other content creators. I have mostly asic miners and due to their power, I am constantly changing power configurations on my pdus. Having extra power cables of different varieties has been beneficial to prevent downtime waiting for a power cord.

Big tip, the sata ssd is super overkill for hive but you definitely don’t want to run it on a spinny boy or a random flash drive from your drawer. The Samsung Bar Plus flash drives are a great compromise offering low power, decent write speeds, with a good memory controller and low price compared to an ssd of any variety

How about a pc speaker to understand no boot with the beep sound/s. Good set of small pliers and cutterrs for the zip ties. A good motorised screw driver, saves a ton of time. Smart plugs which are much cheaper than kill a watt. Say you have a hard crash and u r away. Your hive app on phone goes crazy. Just switch off the system. Wait 30 s and one is up and running. Plenty more. but these are a few of them!!!
