My alley put down fresh oil yesterday on two lanes and didn't let anyone use it all day. I finally got to throw my black widow urethane. Two days ago, the lanes we so burnt up that I had to throw plastic to hook into the pocket. I kept throwing Brooklyn's with my storm mix. My black widow was consistent, 7 pin every throw.

Heres one for Mitch the human bowling ball cannon. 4-7-10 the hard way. go for the 10. I think he gets it in the first 8 shots. Love all your vids and all the guys on the channel. All of you had a bit to do with me going back to bowling after 20ish years. Also a spinal cord injury that was pretty severe, Enough that I had to re-learn everything starting with sitting up and increasing the DD from there. When I tried bowling it was immediately clear that any prior skill, muscle memory or familiarity I may have had is gone. I may know how to bowl, or teach someone else to bowl,and I've bowled a ton, I remember doing it. But the me below the neck, the nerves and all that, everything on the other side of my injury had never ever bowled a shot. I mean never. I was 100% newb down there. The first couple months were really difficult, I had to dial it back to standing at the line and swing, release. Day one type drills, but thats where my ability was at the time. I felt like a child, except I've seen kids bowl, and I'm not nearly that good, if I ever was! The best part in all of it is just how much I'm enjoying everything. FF to today, I'm 7 months in and I'm just having a blast! I go for 2hrs twice a week, work on what need it for an hour then just bowl for another. It was a rough start but I can't even believe the progress I made. I just joined a sport shot summer league a couple weeks ago and picked up a black widow 2.0 solid yesterday. (IT BEGINS!) I think I enjoy bowling now far more than I ever did. I just wondered if I could do it, and its all just for fun, but I get more back than i ever did. Theres more meaning and purpose in my fun, its just more satisfying I guess. so thanks to everyone on the channel , on screen or behind the scenes. If I had not enjoyed your vids it would never have occurred to me to try bowling again. But I did and I'm having the time of my life! Thanks!

Such an enjoyable video. I like hearing the different strategies for shooting this. I have been fortunate enough to make this 3 times now. Two of those were last season on my Tuesday night league. I am NOT a good bowler...175 average but picked this spare up in the 10th frame of an 'important' league game this year. Just threw it hard (for me about 17 mph) at the 10 and cut the 6 into the other pins. A blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut!

Hey guys that is a very very difficult split to cover. When I was bowling regularly years ago I made the 6710 but I never got the Big 4. I have also converted 2 7-10 splits. That was at the old fireside Lanes in Wichita which is way before your time. Now that house was known as having a very lively deck and more 7-10 split square made at that house then any other house in Wichita. Now I have never come close to either one of those conversions at Northrock.

I made that split just a couple of weeks ago .. made a 4 - 10 split last night too .. lucky me! .. and it was all just pure luck! .. actually, I have made quite a few of these kinds of splits this year, can't believe how lucky I have been as it certainly wasn't my skill that did it. Every one of these that I have made have been by just barely touching the 4 and skidding it into the 10 or 6-10, actually hooking it all the way from the 5 board on the right to the 4 pin. I have never gotten any of them by bouncing a pin off of the walls.

I’ve made it twice. One was just a max velocity shot sending the 6 off the back corner of the pit into the opposite gutter, and it rolled up & tapped the 7 back into the 4. The other time was with less velocity and enough revs to straighten out on the first few boards, and the 6 took out the front of the 7, took a good bounce off the side board & got the 4. I don’t think that type of shot works as well with more velocity, as you get less of a forward deflection that way, though it’s probably still possible…I love any excuse to chuck that ball down the lane as fast as possible.

A tip told to me from Paul Moser (1976 U.S. Open champ) was to get the ball to roll as little as possible (Thumb and fingers come out at the same time). This makes the ball punch the pin which tends to make it go upward...still need to throw it hard though.

I've only picked up the 7-10 and 4-6 once. But the Big 4 and Greek Church I've picked up dozens of times. Greek Church I aim for the 4-7 and clip the 4 in-between the 6-9 to clear the 10. The Big 4, I treat like a 6-7 split and just barely clip the 6 a little less to get the 4-7. I'm right handed
@ZF0317
@ZF0317 Жыл бұрын
If this challenge is done again, put revs on the spare ball. Since you're a righty shooting at the 7-4 pins the rotation will cause a lifting force on the pin when it contacts the pins due to friction. That's why the 7-4 pins went up in the air while the 6-10 pins kept going down. I know you're flattening your hand, but there's still a little rotation that acts on the pins. The rotation also causes the 7-4 to hit off each other while the rotation causes the 6-10 to spread apart and, in turn, you lose the energy that could've been created from pins hitting together by shooting the 6-10.
