In a sense, the world seems to be getting smaller because we now know more about it. So it is with the brain. Learning more about the brain can help us to get the best out of this control centre of the body. Our next program, Ahead of Anger, will introduce us to an amazing aspect of brain function and we will even discuss how to deal with anger.

I pretty much lived in first gear growing up, there was constant tension and fighting and yelling by my parents in my home, now I have ocd/tourettes all day long. I don't remember anything before the age 10. But I also read the Bible every night and prayed and I am still a planner. But victory is when you identify the lies that our corrupt bodies conjour, and then you can wholly discard them and defeat them.

I have seen this phenomenon play out while undertaking investigations into violent crime. Witness recollections are a hugger-mugger of facts and fear responses.

I am a Maths teacher of 30 years . I came into teaching for the reason which I did not research or have scientific knowledge of, to help children overcome their fear of maths. I felt it was the key to the low pass rates in High School. I knew that if I could reduce the fear of maths my students would achieve. I committed myself to helping the weakest of students throughout my career, choosing to teach the lower sets rather than the higher sets. Most of their fears were generational as the parents would tell me their own personal fears of maths. My classes included those with the lowest confidence and poorest behaviour and I used to tell them stories and use fun analogies and share words of affirmation each week to encourage them to do better. I would formulate simple check lists of the steps they should take to achieve success and if they didn't, I would ask them to check with a smile on my face. I never scolded them. I was teaching them serious maths, the kids would pass me in the corridor and say Miss I can't wait to come to class I like your stories or you are funny. I used to feel a bit offended as I was just trying to teach them maths. But they were happy. I told them don't look at the top sets, you can get there, just be consistent and try your best. You will progress. It might take you longer but that is OK. So many kids progressed from my classes as their grades improved and I happily bid them farewell. Their confidence was boosted. Mission accomplished! I love teaching and I thank the Lord for giving me this gift of understanding to know that to minimise irrational fear would help the child to learn and understand better. Thank you Dr. Always a pleasure to listen you. All teachers should watch this video. I learn so much from you and Pastor Kent everytime. Keep up the good work.

not many teachers like you mate, i genuinely wanted to learn but the teachers were totally useless self absorbed so and so's, obviously they hated their jobs and didn't deserve them, my friend richard who was a manual arts teacher had to teach all his students maths and english because the maths and english teachers were lazy, at parent teacher night the parents made a bee line to him and avoided the other teachers they personally thanked him, that created jealousy in the useless teachers, they conspired against him, and he being no weak willed man called them all out for what they are and then he went on to start his own automotive business he's now a millionaire by hard work and determination and a he's man of honor who treats customers with a great deal of respect.

@@closertothetruth9209 So sorry. I would have loved to have had you in my class, not because you would have been in the lower set. I taught a wide range, but i enjoyed my role. My colleagues largely did not like those problematic classes and would not be inspired to push through and challenge them or generally did not believe there was any hope for them, which influenced their delivery. Sad but true. I saw myself like a runway. I would assist in helping the next generation take flight. I pray you turned out OK in spite of that childhood experience. My ex thought he was rubbish at maths as an Estate Agent. When I showed him how his daily calculations were the challenges in the average child's learning experience. He could not see why? That is why more churches should open schools and bring their expertise and the love of Christ together to empower and inspire the next generation. Stay safe in Jesus.

I would compare the human brain to something more advanced. The car is a great invention. But, the computer is in another higher level. The computer is a better example.

Brother Rodney, turn on auto caption and you will see how his phrasing and pace and diction helps the computer to correctly produce the text for his commentary. His speech pattern is specific and serves a purpose to a multitude of audiences. Visualise someone signing to his presentation. Bare with him. His heart is pure and his ministry is Holy Spirit inspired. I always have my notebook to hand when he comes on. I learn so much. Blessings from the UK.
