Rose and Seb wanted to make a drastic change, so they built out this wonderful home on wheels! They live in their van full-time and have continued to work their normal jobs once moving into their van, with plans to eventually travel further afield in the future.

I feel like I've seen a million of these van tours, but their layout is spot on! It has studio apartment vibes. A wrap around kitchen and the skylight make it seem more house-like.

Very nice layout, I am crazy about their access to the corner area. I think the flip up countertop is brilliant!! I love the wood burner with the dual flume pipe, safety first!!!!👍🏾😉

When she lifts the kitchen countertop up, or pull out the pantry, we would like to see what is on the other side, peek inside. You left both out which was disappointing. Nice build, very cozy! Not sure why the fireplace chimney is so wide and big though. Takes up a lot of space.

Damian Morgan thanks mate, but you must be young. I'm in my mid 60s divorced twice , both took everything so iv got to keep working probably till I'm 80. Thanks for taking the time too respond.

Well, I'm 47.....and also had that marriage thing and everything taken lol!! And even now I feel I will have to work into my 80's!! But I dont own a house or have much in the way of material goods, so I am seriously on the verge of getting in my van full time....purely so my wages go to me not going to basically stay alive!! Currently I feel like it is just surviving not living. Always good to have options that suit you and not your money!!

Would it be possible to ask the van owners that you film if they have any idea of fuel consumption of the different vans so future builders/dwellers can get an idea, after all it would be sad if someone went through the time and expense of buying and building a van to find out the mpg was really bad and not being able to afford to travel far

Nah - they would vary greatly... Engine type, fuel type, loading etc.. For example - My 1.9D T4 would do circa 36-38mpg fully loaded for journeys. the 2.5's ten to do 30-35mpg mainly becuase of the engine type. Its easier to be a bit pedal heavy in the TDI engines vs the non-asperated

They must be really little people!! Van looks massive compared to them. Really well done though. Just as a word of caution...Aluminium can give off fumes when hot, have read about people getting respiratory probs from it.....just a cautionary warning....especially with such an awesome burner!!

Some smart choices made design wise and some stupid ones as well. Not mounting cupboard on top makes the space inside have a more roomier feel. A wood stove inside a van for heating is a stupid choice. It's a hazard when driving, imagine having a collision with that. It's a hazard when burning, no way there's enough draft pull from that pipe which makes it a carbon monoxide poison risk. There's a good reason why wood burners inside vans are a rare sight, never mind people seeing smoke coming out of a van will likely be inclined to call emergency services because they think the van is on fire.

These people are tiny. Roof height inside of these vans is 190cm (without the inside cladding) and these people are well below that.
