Mafia bosses have a tendency to be gun downed by someone else. I can see why nobody want to admit they are the bosses.

@Zulfiker Ali Khan Chowdhury RE: "Godfather: Boys you know what to do." That actually happened in real life. In 1952, Willie Sutton, a career bank robber with no connection to the mob, was arrested because because he was recognized by Arnold Schuster, a 24-year-old Brooklyn clothing salesman. Schuster later appeared on TV. Unfortunately, the mob boss Albert Anastasia happened to see that news program. In a rage, he ordered, "I hate rats. Whack that motherf**ker!" Schuster was killed days later outside his home.

My Italian part of the family was heavily involved with the Black Hand. My great-great grandfather was the #3 guy in the Black Hand in Johnstown Pennsylvania. The Black Hand was the around before there was the mafia. They were the people who went around to businesses extorting protection money. They also did a lot of gambling and numbers. My great-great uncle owned a shoe store and never worked on a shoe. The shop, like many other places, was a front for numbers. They lived in an apartment like building, with the #1 and #2 guys. In the basement they had a hidden room for alcohol brewing. This was during the prohibition, and they had direct access to the sewers to dump it if the cops came around. My great grandma told me many stories, including how a neighbor was gunned down on the street while she was playing outside. My Italian family surnames are DiMauro and Vizinni, and they’re from Sicily. Interestingly, the man my great grandmother married later became the chief of police for the city. Thanks to my great grandfather, we have ancestors who fought in the American Revolution, War of 1812, and the Civil War.

And the mob has strict rules members must obey, things are settled at tables where you can’t raise ya voice.. organized.. and bc of those rules they don’t allow animals to live long like the cartel do

Hard to believe that Tony Salerno was worth $1 billion, he could've done so much with that money. He could've gone legitimate, stashed and invested it his own businesses. It takes generations to earn that much money even for the rich, such a waste.

A certain well known lawyer, G, is alleged to have been tied to the mob from the very beginning of his career, helping members avoid prison, with laundering, real estate deals, setting up front or shell companies etc. During his stint as a city politician he helped them integrated into the city's economic, political and real estate infrastructure and threw many contracts their way whilst earning considerable kickbacks. During his stint in a high profile legal position he assisted various factions of the mob in taking down their competition using the power of his office. He also acted as a liason or go between for mobs from his city and those in a casino city and a southward state, for US based Italian/Sicilian mobs and mobs from South America, Ukraine and Russa as well as Russn spy agencies fronting as criminal organizations, for certain high profile businessmen helping them set up shop and link with mobs in various states. Due to his aquatintance with certain foreign mobs he was even given certain assignments abroad on behalf of a high ranking politician.
