This anime literally changed my life. It's what got me to finally start exercising when I was just starting high school. My self confidence started increasing and I wasn't such a chubby kid anymore. I related to ippo a lot being picked on and all, but through will power, consistency and motivation he became someone so strong and inspirational. Favorite anime of all time and will forever have a place in my heart! 💛💛 Edit (4/11/2024) 2:30AM : WOW okay, wasn't expecting so many of you to resonate with this comment, but keep pushing and improving. It's only a failure once you stop trying. So get back up stop scrolling and give me 20 pushups. Update. Just started rewatching this series again to get back into shape for summer

I recently started to watch this anime. All I can say is that its changed my life so much. I was depressed, overweight, lacking confidence in myself so much. But after watching a few episodes, I've been training nonstop, eating well, and doing better in life. Now, I cant wait to return to boxing with the proper mindset. Thanks, Ippo! This song also motivates me to never back down and to never quit! I'll give it my all in the ring!

Whenever doubt, fear, or uncertainty rear their ugly heads, I play this song. After 4 minutes and 36 seconds, I’m reminded that I can do it. Persevere. You are great. 1:30 to 1:53 - This part, man. It almost brings me to tears coz it emits this really strong feeling of determination, like Ippo refusing to stay down when Miyata kept knocking him out in sparring. That scene wherein Ippo was punching his knees out of frustration and stubbornness to lose by KO comes into mind. GOATED ANIME! 😤🤘🔥💯🥊

I grew up with a friend obsessed with anime. Personally, I never really got into anime: there wasn't an anime I liked/identified with. Hajime no Ippo changed all that. I love this anime so much, that the opening song brings me to tears. Such a great Anime!!!

I had my first sparring match recently. We listened to a bunch of ippo songs, and i actually won! 2nd round it was too much for him so we called it quits. So excited to keep going and to find out for myself what it means to be strong

I didn't think that I'd love this series as much as I did. The fact that Ippo is so humble and is able to find friends/mentors that encourage him, is so nice to see. Much like Rocky, I just can't help but root for the guy. This song alone has been helping me battle with depression. Keep swinging.

For me it's because it represents the start of the journey and while inner light makes you want to push while you already are in the journey. You get a nostalgic feeling listening to Under Star since it reminds you how you were at the start, why you started and it makes you want to continue to push. Those two openings complements each other so well.

The song matches the vibe of Ippos rise as a man and boxer! My biggest downside is that i overexercised myself recently and got overwork sickness and headaches lmao, and even now that I need to rest my brain is saying go jog or do some push-ups, do something. My insatiable lust for exercising and padwork is now a slight hinderance, but I gotta suck it up and rest. Rest is equally if not more important than working.

I love this anime deeply. And yeah, I know it's just a show. But the way the characters were developed, especially Ippo. It made me feel so relatable. I just started this anime this year. Freaking love it. I was bullied, been doing wrestling for the past years and I'm in excellent shape. Ippo makes me want to box now ahahaha

Ever since I found this anime I wanted to do boxing, but I'm still in 6th grade or middle school but when I turn about 16 or so I'm going to join. I also get picked on in my class so I relate to ippo. I also have more determination because of my father and he and I workout together and he and I will train when I get to be the age that I can join

The earlier you can get in a gym the better, it's not like it's dangerous to be taught techniques. Some Thai boxing champions are in professional bouts at the age of 8 and even younger, so don't be afraid to get to work. Offer to mow some lawns if money is the issue etc.

Edit 1: I already got to the Ippo VS Sawamura fight Edit 2: TAKAMURA VS EAGLE LETS GOOOOOO Edit 3: I finished Rising and restarted by the manga, already reached Ippo VS Sendo. Esté anime me identifica mucho, me hace recordar de mis comienzos en las artes marciales y sobre todo en el boxeo, tuve un colega muy parecido a takamura, lo hecho de menos pero ahora que deseo volver al deporte esté anime me ha devuelto la fuerza de voluntad.

Ippo always have in my heart even i didnt do boxing because im working in myself at basketball hes my inspiration to be determined, to push thru my limits, to achive it to get it, i wont stop till im satisfied i always think what is like to be strong what it feels to be strong i want to be strong too.
