notes from this video 🔴They ayyah we talked about: As saafat verse 102 Al baqrah verse 147 🔴The companion we are discussing Mua'az ibn u jabal And his son :abdur rahman Mua'az ibn jabal was katbeene wahi (the person who used to write quran down on pages) Prophet s.a.w said about mua'az "oh mua'az i love you!" So he was a great man 🔴Time of the incidence Name of Year: aam ur ramda 18 years after hijra What happned :Amwas Plaque Many companions died, like: Abu ubeeda Mua'az ibn. U jabal atc ♦️Muaz ibmu jabal was only 33 years old when he passed away from (was martyred by) the plaque 🔴The story: So, mua'az r.s was in Palestine during the plague . And he fell so ill and he says to the companions "This is the mercy of your lord this is the dua of prohet and this is the way that rightous people were recess in the past as well" (meaning that dying from the plague was one of the ways to be martyred ) Oh allah give the family of mua'az the biggest share of this mercy of yours" So after he made this du'ua his son fell sick (even more than his father) . Mua'az r.s asked his son "how are you" His son responded with this ayyah from surah baqrah "˹This is˺ the truth from your Lord, so do not ever be one of those who doubt." To which mua'az r.s replied with the ayyah 102 of surah saafat "Do as you are commanded. Allah willing, you will find me steadfast.” (this is what islmael a.s responded to his father ibrahim (abrahm) a.s ) Just after this conversation, his son abdur rehman passed away. Due the sorrow and the illness also , mua'az r.s fell so ill that he would become unconscious continuously .would wake up ,then again become unconscious. . So during this time he said the following words "Oh Allah strangle me the way you strangle " (meaning that finish me off the way you would) He also said "I swear by your glory oh Allah! You know my heart loves you" As death started to approach him he said " Welcome to death . A beloved visitor that came at a time that was most needed" "O allah you know that i used to fear you but today i just long for you" " Oh Allah u jnow i never wanted stay in this word to build water ways or to plant trees "( he is talking about this duniya ) "You know that the only thing i loved about this world were the long nights in prayer and the long hours during the day when i am thirsty during fasting.and the traffic towards going to the ullama (scholars) when they were doing thier circle of remmeberance (when they were teaching ) " "You know that i love you o Allah " Those words were the last words of mua'az r.s . 🔴Lesson When u r really in a difficult situation that's when your faith is tested . That Whether you remember quran or not. The people we mentioned had such great sabr and taqwa . They never forget the quran .those were really the people of quran. May Allah guide us and make us the people of quran (pray for me and my family as we are going through a hard time . Pray for our ease and our financial issues as well. Jazakillah/jazakallah khair.
