WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use KZfaqs lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and KZfaq deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

Could you do a one side versa vario? I mean a versa with just one side, still basculate but with just one side, it would definitely make it slimmer haha and awesome to have anyway

Nice watch, not sure if I would pay that amount for two quartz movements as they have some nice watches less than that price The locking mechanism is called a detent, looks like a ball and spring detent

Just a small fun fact, the 2 x Swiss quartz movement cost roughly the same as 1 x NH movement. There were many tries for the case...quite a bit more effort than our other collections.

Thx for the review. A plastic movement holder for a watch of this price is cheap. I know we can't see it normally, but it tells something about the savings... A bit thinner and a real high end finish, I would go for it, I'm in love with the look and idea.

I dont understand why enamel dial is such a luxury on a watch when you can get a enamel pin for like 3 dollar. it doesn't seem that hard to make on other products so why is it different on watches?

A battery change is exactly what I wanted to know when I saw the other reviews of this watch earlier. Thanks for showing how it's done! It's definitely a unique watch though a little out of my price range.

I can see why many jump on it, Cartier Tank meets JLC Reverso. But for me personally it's a bit too niche and a bit too thick as well.

Beautiful dial watch....I love the rectangular style watches. Hence, I own a Cartier Tank Solo. I wish I had an extra JLC Reverso money, but this Vario will possibly scratch the itch. Great video, Sir

I like it a lot, very stylish, the JLC Reverso will unfortunately always be out of reach but this makes a good alternative, but I'm saving my money for the Academic

It would have a lot more appeal if they could shrink the thickness a little. The supporting case looks bigger than it needs to be but I'm no engineer. I'm fortunate to own a single face Reverso (would love a duetto or duoface but have you seen the prices????!!!), but a thinner version of this would have me buying.

I am wearing my salmon coloured Vario Empire right now. Love the watch and the brand. The Versa also looks interesting. However, I would prefer a one-sided rectangular art deco watch with an automatic or hand-wound movement.

I like both of the dials but would prefer them as individual watches. It's obviously taking the idea from the Reverso but though I hate to say it, this a very clunky and unrefined design. I can just imagine it coming loose eventually from flipping it over. It comes across as a first prototype build to me. But that's just a personal opinion and others may well totally disagree. With an 8.1" wrist, it won't be for me anyway. Thanks for the wonderful review as always!

I own one and I'm pretty confident it's incredibly well made. It feels very robust. Time will tell but Vario has never had an issue impressing with quality.

Pity you didn’t measure how thick that centre plate is so you could tell if they could have skimmed it down any. A bit too thick for me and probably not very accurate with the cheap movement used.

Hmm. i'm not a huge fan of this particular watch from Vario, but I can see the appeal it would have for those looking for something in this particular line of style. I do rather like all their Empire watch selections, and would LOVE it if they got their ИAVI x line back in stock, since I really want one of the small seconds compass dials from them in that. Until then, though, I am really looking forward to the arrival of my 1918 Medic from them, which is is on the way!

It does not look that thick until you actually see the watch when it is swiveled out of the normal position.

I like the idea of a Reverseable style watch (although this is obviously NOT a direct JLC Reverso homage) but unsure about the thickness. The quartz (especially with no seconds hand) does not bother me - My Seiko SUP880 tank is also quartz .. but it is MUCH thinner. I do really like the dials on this one too. I've always wanted a JLC Reverso but not sure if this would fill my niche/desire? 🤔 I'd have to think about this one.

A huge part of the appeal of the Reverso to me is how slim and sleek and elegant it is. This Vario with the exposed screws and chonky proportions misses that mark. That's not to say that the Vario isn't an appealing watch, it just fills a different niche than the Reverso. In my book, the only similarity is "flippy watch with an art deco dial"

Gary - what you now need to do is purchase a full on JLC Reverso and do another giveaway which nobody will claim - do this again with a Vacheron 222 and you’ll have a tidy trio to keep yourself including the Grand Seiko :)

This model from Vario initially looks good, but then you look at press photos, and see that they never show the sides. Too fat, screws showing... a lot of space between walls... this seems like a concept and unfinished model. By watching this video, I could see so much space for improvement.

A nice idea. But too thick. And the fact you can’t turn the faces whilst on wrist is a bummer - that’s the whole fun of the JLC. Also the movements are essentially junk. Got to applaud Vario though for something innovative in the micro and budget section - and it’s clearly a winner for them so absolute kudos. 👏. Not for me though.

Gary, are you whispering to avoid the watchmaker at Vario hearing you talking about disassembling the watch. I think you will be safe after all they are on the other side of the world 😂

We've designed it in such a way that it's relatively easy to replace the batteries so we're happy that Gary took the time to take it apart.
