@Josh me That's probably part of their joy in this! By this point they were starting to break away from their dad's psychological control. This isn't the physical abuse era, this is when they all started to do what they wanted. Hence the pure happy energy in the video. They were beginning to feel free. And we know who was starting to spread his wings the most after this. ;)

People cannot forget the bad part because it was never really resolved. So I get it. I used to wonder "Why bring down the statues?" but recently I was like maybe it's necessary to help America heal. Michael looked like he was having the time of his life in this video. You can't help but dance and smile when you see him. I just finished watching the Jacksons movie and it made me so sad when he said people were making fun of his acne and nose. Then they bullied him for being insecure about it. Michael had a pure soul and people did nothing but try to tear him down.

I think we’ll never have that again (unless we were really that wide in our spectrum in music). Elvis was seen as a demon to the parents of the kids and people that were fans of him, and then those same people thought Metallica or Twister Sister were Satan. These special effects were made with a legendary analog machine called Scanimate. Back then, special effects weren't easily created on a computer, as they are now. People had to experiment with all these different settings and knobs on a huge analog machine, to come up with something like this. It's fascinating, and whoever did the special effects on this video really did a terrific job.

They used some kind of frame mixing & overlapping and smearing effects,as well as stop & play each tape at different moments to get such effects etc,,,with these analogue machines, trough they had to time those moments from each tape exactly for such things, i suppose. It’s amezing what they achieved.
