So he's just gotta be polite, try and remember the standard boring questions he ceremonially rips up at the start of the show and let Caine have the audience to himself. Blew my mind when I saw it, just before leaving a small town in Vermont; ended up in Atlanta a week later. As soon as I got a job I got a library card and checked this out- a mere forty pages and Kipling was able to develop this story which the filmmakers kept faith and did a rare justice to.

Not a lot of people know this, but back in the 60s Michael Caine hosted a huge party for his movie star friends with music by some of the top rock bands of the day, and he hired hookers to keep the musicians happy. He told some to look after the Stones and some others to take care of The Who and so on, and at the end of the night the hookers came to him to be paid. So he paid each of them in turn until he came to the last girl who gave him a huge bill. "You want how much?" The girl explained that she'd been with almost everyone at the party, including most of the movie stars. "I'm not paying for all of that! You're only supposed to blow the bloody Doors off!"

His appearance in "Austin Powers: Goldmember" as Nigel Powers made that movie much more enjoyable 😂
@AvengerII3 жыл бұрын
I think Goldmember worked out better with Caine playing the father figure instead of Connery like Myers originally wanted. Caine even looked more like the Austin Powers character, too. I don't think all the makeup in the world would have convinced me Sean Connery was Austin's father. In a way, it's a bit like the third Indiana Jones film (which ironically co-starred Connery). The casting of the father saved what could have been a standard film. Neither third film in either series (Indiana Jones or Austin Powers) is my favorite in its series but the father figures saved the films. Thank goodness, they had the sense NOT to make a fourth Austin Powers movie! We all know how sequels have worked out for Indiana Jones (2007) and Star Wars (2015 onward)! Blechhh! Hollywood just bungles remakes now and it's really been too to bother with another Austin Powers movie, anyway.
