Let's motivate each other and gently work through some plant chores together! I sat down and made myself a list this morning of everything I'd like to try and get through, and ended up having such a wonderful time doing it. Plant care can feel overwhelming at times, but mornings like this often help to remind me just how much I adore it too. I ended up doing some Anthurium pollinating (pollination makes me so excited), some repotting, moss pole-ing of plants and watering. I hope you manage to get through some plant chores (or any other chores you may have!) with me.

Any video you've put out has taught us all things. Whether it be your success or your failed attempts at things. So use that to your advantage. You can literally make a video about anything you're doing with your plants, and it'll be a help to someone just learning.

If you have ADHD (I think you mentioned previously that you do) it’s a very classic symptom to go from procrastination to being hyper focused. I’m the same. I think it’s great that you’re able to talk about it so openly. ❤

Thank you for posting these chill videos. They really help me calm down and get things done, or at least started. It's so refreshing to hear you talk about how you feel and relate so much to it. It really makes me feel like I'm not alone and I hope it does the same for you. It really resonated with me when you talked about being such a perfectionist and sometimes it's so hard to get something going because you just want to get it perfectly right. I think most of us probably struggle with the pressure of perfectionism and the "paralysis by analysis" thing. Thank you for being so real and open about it. That's so important and we all really appreciate you ❤

I am dreadful for putting things off. I lost my husband and i am grieving, depressed and struggling to move forwards. Same as you, its nice to know others feel the same with the procrastinating and 'doing things tomorrow' mentality. My horse is my saviour, my cats have been unbelievable, and my garden and houseplants come next, but i do struggle so much to be positive and forward thinking with everything these days. Thanks to you, your videos and enthusiasm for plants and beautiful leaves, I've bought several new houseplants for my collection including alocasia to try. Your videos definitely help me, so thank you x

Hello! Licensed esthetician here and I do brow laminations all the time. They should have revitalized your eyebrow hair after the treatment with keratin oil. If you go buy some keratin oil and apply and rub it in daily your brows should be back to normal within some weeks possibly less. They didn't do anything wrong the chemical is just drying out that hair follicle by processing it to where it become super dry and fragile. I know exactly what you mean by "I just want my normal eyebrows back" lol.

I’m undiagnosed and it’s so hard to break free from procrastinating. And the laziness card is a bitter pill to swallow. I work full time, have two kids, two dogs and all my plants. Sometimes other things are not a priority right this second and you can’t mentally deal with it and that’s only one part of ADHD. Don’t get me started on my school days and studying and exams. The amount of things I start simultaneously to avoid forgetting to do something. The forgetfulness. What a nightmare. It’s becoming more common that adults are realising they may have ADHD, especially millennials, and my son is currently under the pediatrician pending possible diagnosis, but I’m reluctant to get myself seen over it because more and more people are becoming diagnosed and I feel like I’ll be challenged and made to feel like I’m looking for excuses. Sad that I feel that way isn’t it? I love all the updates the longer the videos the better. I’ve learnt so much from you, my husband is dreading what I do next with my plants whether it’s more or me changing something 😂

What you were saying re: motivation, that’s 100% an ADHD thing. We struggle with task initiation because dopamine (which we are deficient in) is the neurotransmitter responsible for motivation, so it can feel impossible to start a task without it- but once the task has been started, our brains are able to produce more dopamine to keep it going. So something I’ve been doing lately is, since plant care is an excellent source of dopamine for me, I will put on one of your long-form videos and just watch for the first 10-15 minutes. And then once I feel my dopamine levels start to rise just from interacting with content that excites me, I start to feel motivated to do plant chores. But then I redirect the energy to general house care and save the plant care for the end as my reward!

Hi. Fellow sufferer of adhd, except I'm 51 n fighting bad health😢. Last year, in tesco, I brought a philodendron narrow escape. Loved the leaf shape. Set it all up to succeed. Now, I know a lot more about plants thanks to yours and other youtubers. Narrow hasn't done anything in the year I had it. Had a good old invasion of the narrows privacy. She had scale bugs😭😭🤮🤮. Was so grossed out, black bag n binned all of it, soil, plant, gone. Apart from fungus gnats I treated with nematodes, first time iv had pests in the 18 months of having plants. Luv ya all xxxx

Something cool about R. foraminifera is that it's named after a type of micro-organism and you can really see why when looking at the fenestrations. I find that it really looks like the fossil of Brizalina subaenariensis, with the fenestrations representing the "bumps" of the chambers.

to me ADHA really isn't a bad thing it just a different way of thinking and functioning. People talk about it like its this horrible thing and I'm tired of feeling like I'm supposed to not like that part of me and that its something to be ashamed of and fix. Yes its hard to function sometimes with the way our western society functions BUT it also lets me do a lot of the cool things i like to do and learn many things to a very full extent. I cant be the only one that thinks this right?

I would discourage cactus/succulent grafting as you can really rather easily spread viruses between plants this way.
@ilvabeerza
@ilvabeerza 2 ай бұрын
Not an expert on cacti, but to propagate succulents successfully you DO NOT water them until they develop roots. If aloe has rotten roots, you cut everything off and just stick that thing in dry soil and wait until it has developed roots, then maybe start considering watering. If a Jade drops a leaf, you just put it on DRY soil and a new plant will grow. Same with echeveria. If you water anything that has not developed roots, there's a big chance the thing will rot. Sooooooo..... could watering that cacti thing in every video could be the reason you didn't succeed propagating in the past?
