69686 was found in Burle Marx collection after he had passed. They thought that it was a Joepi but after a while they realized it was it's own species. Since it had never been described in the scientific community and they did not know where it came from they gave it the name 69686 until further investigation and location.

Humidity adjustment recommendation-I like to use clear floral plastic sleeves, to help with humidity (and for quarantining), as well as clear zipper plastic storage bags (we use them for storing linens, mostly, in the U.S., sheet sets often come in small ones). The floral bags, especially, are great, because you can slowly creep the bag down and gradually adjust humidity. They have done WONDERS, for my silver dragon alocascia transitioning to normal household humidity (in the Northern Minnesota, in a 100-year old home) ❤️

This is such a fabulous way to help them acclimate! I tend to use ziplock sandwich bags, but I'll definitely have a look into plastic floral sleeves - thanks for the tip! 💚

Care guide for some of the plants you received. This is based from my own experience owning them. I’m based in Singapore btw but these are general care guide for them. Amydrium Medium Silver is the right name. Watering and soil same like any aroid. But give it plenty of light or it will start producing loooooong runners and no leaves. You’ll know it needs to be watered cause the leaves will curl and bounce right back once watered. Fertilize like any of your plants too. Labisia Turtleback- a jungle plant. Needs a humid (terrarium) environment to thrive. It will start to limp if air or soil is too dry and give you crispy brown edges. Can pot in sphagnum moss or a well draining mix. Sensitive to repotting due to its fine roots but easy too root also as long as it’s humid and soil stays moist. Can fertilize but not too much. As with most jungle plants they don’t really need it but putting 2-3 pellets of osmocote will do Ah lighting, bright shaded is best but can tolerate low lighting too.
@TheJungleHaven
@TheJungleHaven 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you sooooooo much for that!! I'm super unfamiliar with Labisia, but that information is just gold. I've just transitioned it to sphagnum moss (for the time being) and popped it into a bag to increase the humidity and help it to acclimate. Really appreciate your advice, thank you again 💚

Next to the plants (and they were rather lovely) was your unbridled joy. It was a pleasure to see and a comfort that somebody else is like me. (I can jump up and down with joy also.) Thank you for another lovely video. Edit: I would do exactly the same as you with the hoyas, put them firstly in water to hydrate and have time to think about what to do next. Edit 2: the Aglaonema does look like army camouflage! As for the flower, when a plant is grown for foliage or is young/stressed, I would cut it off, but with this one I would probably let it grow enough to see it and then cut it off the next minute! And that Labisia is amazing.

Hey, just so you know, distilled water is good for if you have salty/hard water, but I wouldn’t use it if you have relatively soft water because of the disadvantages it brings. Because distilled water has nothing dissolved in it, it can actually absorb the nutrients in your soil and drain them out which will make your plants grow much more slowly or even possible starve.

Wow, very cool plants! The huge waxy hoyas are stunners and I love the variegation on the adansonii! It's not the Indonesian form is it? They have developed their own mottled variegata, though the bit of aurea in there maybe suggests not :) We can't import here in Australia due to extremely strict quarrantine regulations (ie it costs a huge amount of money, takes a very very long time to go through our quarrantine service, and many plants just aren't allowed, so only professional growers do it), so I enjoy watching these! Yes with rehab of dry roots - sit the plant in water for 24 hours, then in damp sphagnum in a prop box (or pot up if the roots are established) is what i do - works really well :)
@TheJungleHaven
@TheJungleHaven 2 жыл бұрын

Hi Claire! Lovely plants but I had a slight out of topic question. I see the moss poles behind you and those look like the premade ones. I wanted to know how you keep them moist and whether it would be harmful to constantly keep them moist (in terms of mould etc)? Not sure I've seen a video on your channel explaining that, so apologies in advanced if you have addressed this in another video!
@TheJungleHaven
@TheJungleHaven 2 жыл бұрын
Hiya! Yes, those are just the cheap stackable ones (I had to grab them quickly as my huge monstera has just hit the ceiling and desperately needs support). I tend to only water them when they're super dry, and the rest of the time I'll just use a spray bottle to target them and the aerial roots. I've personally never had issues with mould and these ones, but I do keep them dryer than my actual moss poles 💚

@@TheJungleHaven Thanks for getting back so quickly! I bought quite a few of them and starting to learn more about moss poles. I've seen quite a few recommendations on self-made ones and those look to be more friendly in keeping it moist as the moss looks much softer and able to absorb and retain moisture quite well. I'll get into that when I grow out of these ones I've bought - so meanwhile I wanted to see how others have kept it moist. Thanks again and keep it going with the videos!

maybe put your code 69689 in damp perlite, like you suggest for my imports? Also I personally cut off my agleonema flowers as they're not that pretty and take up energy 🙃 lovely video as always though! And gorgeous plants! xx

heyy, Im very interested in purchasing from them and using your code. Im just concerned with the import fee and how I figure all that out. I live in germany and have never done this and have no clue where to start. I'd be so thankful for any tips!

So I just googled "how to calculate import fees" and there seems to be a few websites (Simply Duty was the first one that came up for me) that allow you to get an estimate. You could always contact Aroid Market too and just ask them how much you'd be looking at based on how much you're planning to order 💚

Can that plant cabinet be found on Amazon or any other American retailer?

I found mine on ebay actually for only £20 - I don't think it was a specific brand, and it wasn't meant for plants originally. I made a vid on how I turned it into a plant-friendly environment 💚

It's good to get a big bucket of water and just soak the entire plant in water for about 30 or 45 minutes
