When Bishop Sheen was alive, "practicality" outweighed "feelings" and emotions. Children were taught that how they felt, and their individual preferences, meant little or nothing. What was most important was doing what was right according to prevailing social standards and norms, and "doing for others" was considered a far higher good than pleasing oneself. Beginning in the 1960s, things began going in the opposite direction, but to an extreme. The desires of the individual have now become all-important; "doing what's right" now means "whatever I WANT". And satan has used that aspect of modern culture as an entry point.

This looks like it was in the 1960's or early 70's given that he died in 1979. He was spot on in everything he said. If only he could see the 1000 fold wickedness that has increased to this day.

Even until this day, Ven. Fulton Sheen’s words remain current and reliably true. May God have mercy on us all.

That man was blessed with such a way with words and being able to pull in his listeners to hear hard truths. Bishop Fulton Sheen, pray for us!

At 19:54, the modernists get *told*. I find it interesting how so many orthodox churchmen from this time period saw clearly the present crisis. It's almost as if they could already see all the judas-priests with their hands on all the levers of power, moving only as slowly as they thought they needed to move in order to avoid detection.

I never really.listened to Fulton Sheen's tv show or talks,.never watched any videos of him. I mean, I know who he is but I never got "into him", never was really interested. However, these last couple of days he's been coming up in my KZfaq feed so I decided to listen. WOW! I am hooked! This man was a prophet, held nothing back, and spoke with simplicity and clarity, but still gives the deeper meaning. Venerable Fulton Sheen pray for our Church, we need it desperately!

People of Bishop Sheen's generation who only had high school educations were far more literate than the average American college graduate today. The language, culture and general fund of knowledge have been dumbed down in the last 60 or so years. Along with that goes a lack of critical thinking skills.

I remember watching him when I was a kid and I loved him then and still do although I am not a Catholic but a Protestant. He really was able to communicate to hungry hearts.

This was so powerful. I feel this might be happening to me since I started doing psychic readings god left me. I pray he comes back in my life and I need people to pray for me. I need to do readings to make money cause I’m disabled but I hate doing them. I pray god finds a way to help me have financial stability so I don’t need to do psychic readings anymore.

There is a Man on a Cross who refuses to come down. I tried to remove the nail in His feet but He said: “Let them be! For I cannot be taken down till every Man, Woman and Child come together to take me down!” But I said: “What can I do? I cannot bear your cry” And He said: “Go into the world, and tell every man that you meet: There is a Man on the Cross” Was not our stone heart breaking at those words?

This Priest would make a grrat companion to visit Churches, especially the old ones I visit, so much I don't know, the man's got a great sense of humour which is one of the greatest possessions we given.

Spectacular beautiful Christian teaching , sadly we don't hear this kind of teaching in church today.we are taught the Christ the loving one and not the suffering Christ.

I watched him growing up and wish he was still alive and telling all of us what we need to hear.

You know, I still remember my generals in school: first rule of thumb along with others, do critical thinking. If you don't know, ask questions and do research. Always read the monolog, the index, and table of contents, and browse the book before you get started. Funny how those things we apply in our everyday life.

I am 70 years old and Archbishop Sheen was, hands down, the greatest preacher of the Cross of our time. He was thoroughly Christocentric, loved our Lady, and penetrated the Sacred Scriptures like no other. No wonder the Modernists hate this fisher of men.

It doesn’t matter if it’s real or not … the effect is. And the way to stop it is to always be in control of your own emotions and energy and go to church !

Fulton Sheen was a brilliant orator.

A gifted lecturer; a beloved bishop; he fortified our faith. Truly a saint. He forewarned us of the period in which we now live as our diocesan bishop in the 1960's.

God graced us with a wonderful disciple.

The 3 powerful weapons against satan: The Holy Name of Jesus, The Blood of Christ, and a Devotion to The Blessed Mother. And I would add that within these are the Holy Scriptures. When Jesus was directly confronted with the devil in the desert, Jesus answered him with Scripture. Jesus is the Word and so back again to the fact that Jesus is the greatest weapon (whether The Blood of Jesus or The Holy Name of Jesus) against satan. Oh if the world only realized just how important Jesus is!

I have a book from 1926 amongst others I believe it was like one dollar at the time but hard cover and over a hundred pages just interesting. It’s not a short book either entitled “The Mass”, I used to listen to his tapes years back very great speaker and good sense of humor but also makes the faith palpable.

I'm back in the day I myself was PGA president and set on state PGA board in Indiana and help pass the law to stop corporal punishment. Why did I do this? When God was speaking unfunishing your children that did an include beating them that's why we had to get discipline out of the schools because adults were not trusting and abusing their rights to involve corporal punishment. Why is this holy prophet not canonized?

These topics fascinate me. I would really enjoy a discussion about how vulnerable young children are to temporary possessions or maybe just attacks by evil spirits. Being a devout Catholic father raising three young children (ages 4, 5, and 6) at times, I am baffled when I witness some of their meltdowns, defiant behavior/ language, misbehavior at church, just complete irreverent behavior (spoiled, not grateful, disrespectful, you name it). I theorize that because a young child is not trained in spiritual warfare, and, in the case of my children, has not yet received first Holy Communion, I believe they are easy prey for evil spirits.. My daughter has told me that she misbehaves in church because "the voices bother her." My other daughter throws meltdowns that last hours with a complete blank stare on her face and loss of control of her body, but then she snaps out of it and she is perfectly fine for a week before another episode occurs. My son repeatedly defies us and belittles us despite his young age. As far as I could tell, we are good parents (although we have our fights, many surrounding how to help fix our kids' misbehavior), read books about disciplining, take proper care of them, go to church every Sunday, etc. We even took the daughter having meltdowns to a medical professional.. I also specifically have asked God for help in that I use holy water, pray for various Saints' intercession, ask Jesus to clean their spirits, etc.. Sometimes I am just at a loss as to what to do. Sometimes I just look in the mirror and think maybe I am just an inept father, and I am failing to raise them right. Or perhaps being tormented by these kids is just the cross that I have to bear in my life. I don't know, but just trust God, pray, do my best, and move forward.

Unfortunately Bishop Sheen, for all his greatness, eventually broke his vow against Modernism - meaning he accepted the Novus Ordo mass and Vatican II, which is no small thing! 😢
