thanks for sharing! Im on this same road to getting into Sumo track days. Its been a long time for me and the cost of big bikes and big track riding is ridiculously expensive nowadays. I just wanna have fun and Sumo's are the best bang for your buck. Everything with the exception of a pit setup (still need same kind of stuff as big bikes, tire warmers, generator, etc) is cheaper for these bikes. Look forward to seeing more vids on the Sumo on track!

Gotta love the supermoto track day's! They are a blast around these tiny kart tracks and if you fall you just stand back up. Great to see that you were pushing yourself. Saw the laptimes and lines improve. Keep it up!

if youre anywhere near matt after one day on a supermoto youre gonna be very fast, matt is an awesome rider and full time send specialist, no fear. come to lafayette motorsports park in syracuse or OVRP and ride with us! you can gear your fs for nyst too, super fun.

Cam, it is truly great to have you back. I just want to say thank you for making this video. I know the effort it and planning it takes for a track day. On top that, you had to focus on the cameras and content. I always loved your videos. Currently on a FZ09 that’s my track/street bike and now I’m convinced my next bike is a sumo 701/690. Cheers

just my opinion but from what i’ve gathered for a true supermoto experience get a 450 or 500 the 690/701 have more of a street bike feel and are very heavy on top of the fact that the gas tank is in a weird spot compared to others if you want the fun light wheelie experience then that’s more the 450/500s

Love supermotos been doing them a lot more coming from big bikes because just ease of access to track etc. one thing that definitely helps is a lot more of a neutral body position atleast in my experience just crank the bike over don’t need to really lean that much off of it. And drop tire pressures for metzlers to like 17 read 25 front when cold. Also you can hold a lot more of an inside line with more throttle on these in comparison to a big bike. Last note, also watch some s1 gp on KZfaq they’re some good races and you can really see the body positioning etc.

If you supermoto your dirt bike, do you have to change up the suspension settings a bunch to get it to handle a road course better? I feel like a bike that's setup for dirt tracks wouldn't work so well on a road course, but I could be wrong. Had an RMZ 450 for many years and I just don't feel like it would feel right with street tires on that suspension setup.

Also man, you can still do foot out on a sumo. If your brain tells you to do foot out, don't force urself to do knee down. Just be sure you have the correct shoes to protect you.
