I'm from Darjeeling residing at Happy Valley Tea Estate. I drink only 2nd flush black tea from Gopaldhara tea estate everyday. No doubt, all the Darjeeling tea are good and flavour full, but as per my opinion the best tea from Darjeeling are from Makaibari Tea Estate,Kurseong ( Full Moonlight Tea) , which had sponsored FIFA World Cup too. Secondly, the next one is from Gopaldhara Tea Estate, Mirik ( 2nd Flush) and I drink it everyday twice a day. Darjeeling Tea is Worldwide popular, but the SAD part is that the tea pluckers( all females) are paid very low wages, that is just Rs. 200 - 250/- per day, which is the lowest in India. All the huge profits are swallowed by the Tea Estates Owners.

Do you know the daily wages of tea workers???? Only 200 rs per day. All the tea mafia are selling the hard work of tea garden people. All the owner of tea garden shut down their company during off season becouse the have to give wages to the worker and when the tea leaves come like may ,June month they opens their company to make money. Our tea workers are jobless therefore they don't have any other option... but nobody tells you this story.just just go and feel the pain how much the tea workers are facing.plz I humbly request the lallantop team. You are just showing its outer layer U have to go it's inside story... How the Darjeeling tea workers manage their life where they are getting only 200 rs per day at the same time their Hard work means tea are selling 1.5 lacks per kg.

in bengal we prefer tea leaves in house while drinking tea, and that's called flavour chai, while in North India and west India they generally use tea powder and use various types of masala to kick up the flavour ,

What a Contrasting situation in Darjeeling! A tea worker gets just 200-250/- per day as wages and the Tea companies sell TEA at exorbitant prices. The companies sit in cozy offices in West Bengal and decide the fate of Poor Tea workers. Some of the tea estates have been closed down. @theLallantop you should have presented the story of these poor tea workers and how they afford to live with just 200/- a day.

I am from assam, and I am not going to argue which one is good Assam or Darjeeling. But Assam Wihite tea still not available for common people as all white tea has been exported. White tea is processed under full dark, No lights allowed until the tea fully processed

Normal tea in Darjeeling, if plucked by 50 labours for the whole day (8hrs) could make 40kg final product tea (dry). So this guy who is explaining the consumption of time for this white tea processing has his own way of non practical profitable for business owning. Truth is nevertheless hidden. We could imagine the price if it is exported. And the fact which Darjeeling tea garden labour earns. his/her daily wage is not more than Rs.280 along with very few other benefits.
