What does a Japanese and British Captain, an Emarati First Officer,14 other nationalities and a Spanish avgeek have in common?!
Well, EK931 that is!
A warm welcome to the most diverse flight I can remember being on!
I was looking forward to this flight for many years. Emirates was the last one to join the club to Tel Aviv of the countries who signed the Abraham Accords.
Many new experiences are available to the Israeli and Palestinian clientele departing to/from Tel Aviv and I was eager to try them all out!
I’ve so far flown on all airlines and I can tell you that Emirates is top in it’s category in the Economy Class! Despite not being the newest B777-300ER in the fleet is still continues to have the best product on this route.

This is the most complete trip report channel I've seen so far, when it comes to the coverage of the technical details of the aircraft. I really appreciate reading all the information about the destinations of the planes on the ground, as well as all the interesting facts about the engines, wings, flaps, etc. you add to each of your videos. BTW. I was a little bit surprised that this flight landed on RWY 21. Most of the incoming landings are on RWY 26 and 30.

Hi! I was swept away with your very detailed video and it felt like I was beside you traveling! keep it up! I also went to Israel last month for the Eid break and flew Emirates as well...same feeling and very delighted with the flight experience. My favorite Israeli movie was "Walk on Water" by Eytan Fox and my favorite drink onboard is Bloody mary.

Thanks a lot Henry! Yes, I agree with you.. Flying a plane in the US became like taking a bus. While it’s great for people as they’re able to go anywhere, I kind of find it sad that quality went down the drain. In the Middle East you even get a meal on a 45 minute flight.. I hope it stays that way, time will tell! Again, very grateful for your comment! Keep enjoying 😊

Hey Siddharth, my name is Alex! I just use the iPhone 13 Pro Max.. I have a nice camera but the phone is just more mobile and easy.. I charge it on the plane, most already have USB or power ports!

Are there more security controls than usual on such a flight? Would you say that Israel is a nice destination for spending my next vacation?

There are some added security checks, but they’re pretty ok and human at Emirates. I experienced quite nasty ones with El Al. And then to depart from Tel Aviv it’s 100% of the time a nightmare for me. But it could be easier for you.. My story is that I have multiple passports, I live in Dubai, I travel almost daily and a lot to Muslim countries. They don’t like that😐 But the destination is chill!

Hey Ali! It’s mine too😛 Yes, Wizz is filmed, Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi. But it was delayed so quite dark, have to figure out how to fix that. I also have Flydubai Tel Aviv-Dubai and Etihad in Business Class from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv on the B789😎 Only missing El Al and then I collected them all! I had it booked but I missed the flight. Last time fly on a 777-300 was whit Kenya Airways thats is many years ago,was3-3-3 in eco and 2-3-2 in business.Good job

oh yes i flew on a KQ 777-300ER to AMS from Nairobi! Sad that KQ no longer have those big planes all are with turkish airlines now. Biggest plane in KQ's fleet is the uncomfy 787-8 which seats are so narrower.

Ah yes, the good old days.. Sadly it didn’t really work out for them. The potential was there, like with Ethiopian Airlines, but the model didn’t work. Hope they get B777’s again soon!

Just the simple iPhone 13 Pro Max! Phone is easier to handle then a camera in an active environment like the plane is.

Aviation wise, this is one of the most beautiful flight report ever, each and every single detail is well presented. On arrival Tel Aviv airport is very beautiful. As long as it welcomes muslims, it's all good! Great job dude!

12:53 I once flew on a United 767 which still had a cabin from the late 80s. Even that old plane had the ability to make phone calls for then 10$ per minute. Would like to know why most airlines do not offer that although most never used it

It used to be a thing before. Now you can just make calls inflight from your own phone so it became obsolete.. And it’s cheaper to make calls with your own phone.

Well Itai, I’ve flown so far almost each airline between the Middle East and Tel Aviv and they’re really giving it all. Etihad is next and boy, they even had Kosher wines! I wanted to show the inaugural flight, but no empty seat there! It was in fact so full of VVIP’s, VIP’s, press, people, more people that it was just impossible to walk around and do stuff. So I chose the emptiest flight I could find😂 I did have a seat neighboor but I indicated to her that the 4 middle seats were empty and she left😎 The PA in Hebrew was automatic, but on the inaugural one there actually was someone speaking Hebrew. It seems that if someone happens to speak Hebrew that they will do it. See you next vid!

And how come there are two captains on the B777-300ER for this flight? It is not a 17-hour long haul route to begin with, isn't it???? So how does it work, do you know???? Is one of the captain a chief check training instructor pilot getting out of his classroom to mentor the younger inexperienced captains on the flight?

Hey again, always nice to see you around!! So you gave a good answer yourself! It might be a training flight, or a regular line check, or maybe someone is new, or returning to work. It could be anything! But nobody is inexperienced as it was Captains and First Officers. The newest ones start are cadettes, second officers and then they keep upgrading. Yes there are many many Emirati pilots at Emirates, I have a few friends that are flying there. Men and women. Most of the time there is one operating. The expats are from anywhere, not only Europe and US but also Latin America, Asia, Africa and Australia. There are so many in my community. Last week I had a chat with a Malaysian one!

@@TheLayoverAviation Damn..... There are many local Emirati pilots at their home base??? I thought the population density of Dubai would be smaller than London or LAX = so not a lot of folks in this line of work. Since it is cosmopolitan airline to begin serving internationally, not locally to begin with, so it would make more sense to have expats. Plus, the pilot training is not on par comparing to the Europeans, Australians, New Zealanders and the US to begin with.

I asked for one of each. There was also a third option, but it was chicken with rice, nothing special. So I asked those that might be relevant and special for this specific flight. And from what I think know now, it seems that no meat is served any longer to better serve other Jewish customers, so there is either fish, vegetarian and Kosher. Thanks for the comment Kamal!

Every time I see Dubai it makes me nostalgic haha. Even if I've just returned from there. You can even see my school taking off from 30L. Missing all the shawarma places in Al Karama. Also the hummus you get there is nowhere close to what you see in Jumbo or Albert Heijn haha xD Greetings from an av geek in Delft! P.S: Try the Amman Tel Aviv flight. Its only around 18 mins I heard. As you can see the approach is over Amman haha.

Hey Sahil! I’m glad it brings you some nice memories! Love your Albert Heijn comment, I recently had what they called “Muhammara” there and it was gross! They fooling Dutch people with Arabic food that actually isn’t 😂 That flight you mentioned is super interesting but I have something better!! I flew from Tel Aviv to Dubai and on take off we maintained like 4000-5000ft until Amman, that was so cool! I wish to fly from Bahrain to Dammam, half that flight lenght! I absolutely love your comment, thank you! I fully agree! They are trying so incredibly hard to fix things and be friends that it made me very happy too. Not only on the plane, in the UAE as well. They have received Israelis with open arms, to such an extend that in the winter there are around 10 daily flights between Dubai and Tel Aviv alone! Thanks for watching!
