“I don’t think I’ve seen this many portal guns in one place” In the first office prank map you got the portal gun off an identical rack. You didn’t notice it then either, I think you mentioned having it in your pocket which was hilarious.

Given how Cilla asks for help after things go wrong, it seems more like hacking/paranormal possession than Cilla herself being the villain (unless of course, all of that was an act to trick people and lure them in)

I love the concept of a friendly AI getting hacked by some unknown, possibly paranormal being who then forces that AI to turn on you. But not in the same sense as Wheatley but exactly like Cilla here.

Did anyone else hear her say "THERE'S SOMETHING IN HERE!" when she was shorting out? That might be a groundbreaking detail, especially if this and the other the office prank maps parts are the same canon. Remember that black figure that wasn't a manniquin? The olde flashlight guy? Remember that supposed "manniquin Racism"? REmember the shadows? "WE NEVER LEFT NOSTRUS!"? There's a third party here. IT was confirmed by the office prank 4th part, which the librarian hasn't played yet, where you play as a cop, that the maniquins were, in fact, robots, but it is also implied that there is a greater paranormal force going on in the backround. This isn't just malfunctiong AI. It just isn't.

i really love the sound design and model for the corrupted version of the core, i dont think ive ever seen a destroyed core model in portal 2 which leads me to believe that that model is custom made for this mod, and the ghostly broken voice along with the deactivated eyepiece light and the subtle animation of her robot parts still slightly fidgeting around is so fucking good

At 22:19 I just want to point out that the “Robots don’t sleep” poster is different than the one from the main game, the real one says “Remember…Robots don’t sleep, they can test and do your job” and the robot in the image has a blur of arms around him working and testing

Man, the ending surely reminds me of the scooping room from fnaf. Either she scooped the brains and organs to make mannequins or use the outer shell of player, the part where the core stares at you with deep blank eyes was scariest shit.

Hey, Librarian, if you're looking for a break from horror games yet still want that sort-of spooky vibe, I highly recommend Viscera Cleanup Detail! It's a game about cleaning up a place after some brutal thing happened. I won't spoil it too much. Have fun!

I feel like this is more horrifying if you take the theory/lore bits that a lot of machinery are either people or copied people shoved into the devices and machines like cores and sentient bots.

@@MiloTheOpossum well people ha e pretty much agreed on[and it's been hinted at in the first game] that the companion cube actually has dead employees and test subjects compacted into them. Now for the core theory. So the new desk job basically confirmed that Aperture Science had the tech to copy one's personality and all that junk onto a machine but the cores are pretty limited meaning a lot of them are broken, as seen in portal 2. Why need so many cores if you'd only need a handful just to damper your main A. I and death machine. The spread-out theory, at least amongst my friend group and a few others, is that the cores actually have chunks of employees stored in them so they could continue tasks like helping other employees waking test subjects like chell. Now of course it's a bit shaky but it's supposed to be a funny yet dark theory and somewhat fact in the companion cube and GLaDOS part

All these halloween themed HL/Portal maps _really_ makes me wish someone would remake They Hunger for HL2 (or rather perhaps, finish the They Hunger official game that got cancelled years ago; Lost Souls? I think?). Unfortunately I'm not sure Neil Manke is even alive anymore.... But man TH 1 & 2 were some of the very best Halloween singleplayer total conversion mods ever made. Still worth playing.

If you like this sort of creepy/cute + genuinely creepy, you'd _love_ the Halloween area (DLC) for Borderlands 2 -- unfortunately its name escapes me at the moment, but I absolutely loved it myself. That and Tiny Tina's Dragon Keep were the two best parts of that game, and that's really saying something with how great BL2 is in general.

Try The Stanley Parable. It’s aesthetic feels really liminal despite it not even being built around that idea. It has a very “dream” like feeling to it and I know you would love it and you probably already know what it is but it would be great if you made a video on it. 🙂

I was playing Portal 2 with a friend and I was looking through workshop maps ad I found on called "The Broom Closet" and when I loaded into it I noted how much it resembled "The Stanley Parable" and lo and behold I step right into the office building, numbered doors and all. I now realize that "The Broom Closet" is a reference to a certain part in "The Stanley Parable".

between the ending of part 3 and this map being set in the titular office of the office prank, i think the abandoned offices were repurposed for various holiday shenanigans but the Evil Forces(TM) were still down there and turned it all on its head

I wondered if Cilla was voiced by a Vocaloid or something cause she oddly sounded a bit like Luka or someone. Turns out to be Eleanor Forte from Synthesizer V/Synth V which is another singing voice synthesizer, I went looking(cause I was curious) & looks like Eleanor Forte Lite was likely used, I say this cause for some reason her paid voice(Eleanor Forte AI) while similar is noticeably different which is odd as none of the other voice banks with a lite version have this kind of change. The difference between lite & paid is that lite is free & the paid voice bank/program(there's a lite ver of the program too) is allowed for commercial use along with whatever the more access the paid version of the program. I just thought this was interesting cause I'm into Vocaloid & Synth V stuff
